Yiwu historical story
Yiwu: A place named after birds.

According to legend, in the Qin Dynasty, Yuyue, about 0/50 km west of the East China Sea, had a fertile field, favorable weather and good crops. It stands to reason that ordinary people should be well-fed and live and work in peace and contentment. However, due to the cruel exploitation of the local rich, many farmers lost their land and homes, or became serfs, or vagrants and beggars, living in dire straits.

There is a father and son named Yan. The father's name is Yan Feng and the son's name is Yan Wu. The two men fled from Shandong to the south. At first, they worked for a rich family, but later the rich man saw that Feng Yan was old and sick and had no oil and water to squeeze, so he drove the father and son out of the house. Yanwu and his father had to beg for a living.

Because there is often no food to eat, the father and son are often dizzy with hunger, especially the elderly father, who is terminally ill. Fortunately, Yanwu is a dutiful son and serves his father well. ?

On one occasion, Yan Wu found a small cave on the way to beg. The area of the cave is small, but it is warm in winter and cool in summer. Yanwu was overjoyed. He tidied up the cave and moved some clean big stones, the big one as a bed and the small one as a stool. Since then, the father and son have settled in the cave. ?

In a blink of an eye, summer has arrived, and there are more mosquitoes in the caves. How to make a seriously ill father sleep well and not be disturbed by mosquitoes? Smart and filial Yan Wu has her own way. Every evening, Yanwu always takes his father outside the cave to enjoy the cool, and then he goes back to the cave and lies down naked. Those big, vicious mosquitoes buzzed around Yanwu and kept bombing him. An hour later, when the mosquitoes were full and retreated, Yan Wu got up and went back to the cave to sleep with his old father on his back. Sometimes dad can't help but ask, honey, why are there so many red pimples on your face? Yan always smiles and says, Dad, your eyes are not easy to use, and my face is rosy! ?

For a long time, Yan Wu's filial piety touched a nest of crows living in the cave. These crows eat mosquitoes when they see them, and then the mosquitoes in the hole disappear. When I come back for dinner, I will also leave some food for the crows. Father and son and crow became good neighbors. ?

One day at dawn, the crow was suddenly awakened by a cry of pain. It turned out that Yanwu's father died, and Yanwu was crying at the gate of the cave with his father's body in his arms. The crow was also infected by the sad cry, and she was so sad that "wow!" Wow! Wow! " Cry loudly. Later, several crows left the nest and flew in different directions. ?

A few hours later, a miracle appeared. I saw thousands of crows flying to Yanwu and his son, and each crow had a white mourning circle around its neck. The crow circled several times over the heads of Yanwu and his son, and then flew to the northwest. They picked up the dirt from the yellow land 1 km away and piled it on Yanfeng. These crows were busy flying back and forth. Soon, their beaks were hurt, and the mud was stained with a little crow's blood.

At night, the crow built a high grave. ?

It is said that after the death of the dutiful son Yan Wu, the crow was buried next to his father's grave. People built an ancestral temple here, called the filial piety temple. In order to commemorate the righteous crow injured during the construction of the grave, people call this area a black wound. After Qin Shihuang pacified Jiangnan, the county name Wu Shang was built here. In 624 AD, it was called Yiwu. ?

According to the old people, when crows pecked at the mud, the water in the pit turned into a pond, which is now the north of Tang Qin Passenger Transport Center; On the way, the crow's resting place lost a lot of mud with mud and became a hill. A few years ago, with the expansion of the city, Shantou Mountain, as a road, became a section of Chengzhong North Road, probably located near Yiwu Dengfeng Machinery Co., Ltd.

1, Buddhist temple

Buddhist temple is a famous town with a long history in Yiwu. 193 1 years ago, before the opening of the Hangjiang Railway, Fotang Town became the local economic and transportation center with the advantage of Yiwu river transportation, and had the reputation of "Little Lanxi".

Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, Yiwu River was the main waterway in the east, west and south of Yiwu. Up to Weishan in Dongyang, down to Jinhua, Lanxi, Hangzhou, Quxian and Changshan, and up to Tunxi in Anhui. Can pass bamboo rafts and 3 to 5 tons of wooden sailboats. Fotang Town was the main water pier at that time, which brought prosperity to shipping, commerce and service industry. In (Jiaqing) Yiwu County Records, there are as many as six entries describing Buddhist temples. Such as Buddha town, Buddha city, Buddha street, Buddha port, upper Buddhist temple, lower Buddhist temple and so on. Under the entry of Fotang Town, it is recorded that "there is a cloudy yellow (mountain) in the south, a big stream (river) in the north, a floating beam (bridge) across, and boats are moored like ants". During the Qianlong period, Yang, a magistrate of Yiwu, wrote in Wanshan Bridge that Fotang Town was a "four-sided town, with Jia leading the car and neighboring cities". It shows that Fotang Town was famous more than 220 years ago. ?

There is a magical legend about the origin of Buddhist temple repression. According to the Records of Stone Anthology * Biography of Song Toutuo and the records of Yiwu County (Jiaqing), in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there was a Song Toutuo named Dharma in Tianzhu who was injured in Nanliang (502 ~ 5 19) and lived in the jungle of Xiangshan Rock Valley.

Later, Dharma came to Qiao Song and met Lou Yan, assistant minister of Liang Dynasty. They have similar interests and talk very speculatively. The Dharma invited Lou Yan to go back to Wu Shang in the second year to raise money to build Xiangshan Temple, and Lou Yan readily agreed. After the completion of the temple, Dharma became the abbot of the temple.

On March14th, the second year of the Liang Dynasty (AD 52 1 year), Dharma went to a nearby village to attend a fast meeting. After the fasting meeting, Dharma refused to return to the temple, and everyone lived alone. The Buddha said: The poor monk came and died. Everyone saw that Dharma had made up his mind and had to send it away with tears in his eyes. Dharma went south to Jinshan.

At that time, due to the continuous rainstorm for several days, the river surged, some banks had burst through the gap, the flood mercilessly flooded the fields, and low-lying villages were also immersed in the water. Some villagers climbed the roof, some climbed the trees, and some were washed away by the flood. The situation is very critical.

Although there are several wooden boats on the river, they are all moored on the shore and cringe in the face of stormy waves. Dharma is a powerful monk. Faced with this situation, he read a spell and threw the iron fish (a fish-like instrument made of iron) into the air. I saw that the iron fish green released thousands of rays of light and turned into a wooden boat floating into the river.

Dharma reached another finger, and the wooden boat quickly sailed to the people trapped by the flood. The boat twists and turns in the rough waves until all the victims are rescued and sent to the embankment. Dharma took back the iron fish, threw an umbrella on the water, floated across the river and came to Jitingtang to enlighten Fu Yi (later stone). ?

In order to thank the great kindness of Buddhism in saving lives, people built a Du Qing Temple for people to worship. There is a couplet in the temple: "Buddha's light is handed down from generation to generation, and the church candle shines everywhere." People call this place "Buddhist Temple", and Du Qing Temple is also called the Ancient Buddha Hall. ?

Buddhists cherish this ancient temple very much. After several repairs and reconstructions, the Du Qing Temple in the west of the town is still intact. ?

2. Dynasty Valley

Standing at the entrance of Qiuzhai Village in Yixi, looking to the west, there is a ravine extending to the northwest around Little Huangyan. Follow the ravine and approach the foot of Little Huangyan Mountain. About two kilometers ahead, the canyon seems to come to an end. A steep rock wall is magnificent, and there is almost no vegetation on the dark rock, only a few vigorous young trees are deeply rooted in the crevices. If you continue to get close to the stone wall, you can find a seam more than ten meters wide on the stone wall.

A stream gurgled out. Cliffs on both sides are like axes, standing tall. In addition to climbing up the stream, even birds and animals can't get up anywhere else. Along the stream, the mountain gap gradually widened and the road became easier. Climb 500 meters, that is, there are two or three square kilometers of mountainous areas. The trees are lush and full of vitality. Surrounded by mountains, it is simply a paradise. There is another legend about this place. ?

At the end of the Tang Dynasty, due to political corruption, Huang Chao took the opportunity to mobilize troops in the north to resist the Tang Dynasty, but under the suppression of powerful forces in Tang Jun, he was unfortunately frustrated. So Huang Chao led his troops to the south of the Yangtze River. Tang Jun is under siege, and the rebels are faced with many difficulties, and they really want to find an ideal place to rest. On this day, the army came to Yiwu to camp. In the evening, Huang Chao had a dream that he led the army into a magical canyon in Yixi, where the army was rested and the soldiers were replenished. ?

The next day, he sent someone to look for it, and sure enough, he found this valley in the northwest of Little Huangyan. ?

Before entering the valley, he sent troops to wipe out bandits, suppress bullies and distribute the proceeds to the villagers. Therefore, villagers joined the army in succession. After resting in the valley for a period of time, the rebels suddenly came out of the mountain and captured Wuzhou with lightning speed. ?

Later, the local villagers named this valley Huang Chao Valley to commemorate the rebels. ?
