1894 February 15, an explosion was heard near the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London. It is understood that the bomber was a young French anarchist who was killed in the explosion. Is this explosion going to destroy the observatory? Conrad thinks the answer is yes. The clock in this building shows Greenwich mean time, which not only represents the standard time in Britain, but also becomes the starting point of world computing time since 1884. As a symbol of industrialization with political overtones, the Observatory does have the possibility of being attacked.
