Zhou Shizong: How to lay a good foundation for the establishment of the Northern Song Dynasty?
Chai Rong, also known as Guo Rong, was born in Chaijiazhuang, Longgang, Xingzhou (now southwest of Xingtai, Hebei). Born in 92 1 year (the 18th year of the late Tang Dynasty), he died in 959 (the 6th year of the late Zhou Dynasty) at the age of 38. From 954 A.D. (the first year of Xiande in the Later Zhou Dynasty) to 959 A.D. (the sixth year of Xiande in the Later Zhou Dynasty), he became the Emperor of the Later Zhou Dynasty, known as Zhou Shizong in history, and reigned for five years. He was the second emperor in the later Zhou Dynasty and the most outstanding politician, strategist and commander-in-chief in the Five Dynasties.

Chai Rong was born in a villa in Longgang County, Xingzhou in 19921year (September 24th, 18th year of God bless in the later Tang Dynasty). Chai Rong's father Chai Shouli and grandfather Chai Weng are both famous local tycoons. Father Chai Shouli is the younger brother of Chai Shi, the wife of Guo Wei of the Zhou Dynasty.

In 926, when Chai Rong was six years old, Guo Wei married his aunt Chai in Luoyang. According to legend, Chai Yuan was the imperial concubine of Li in the later Tang Dynasty. In April of the same year, Guo was led by Ma Su and Li was killed by mutinous soldiers. After Li Siyuan entered the palace, Chai was put back home. When I went to Bianshui (the first line from the Yellow River to Kaifeng), it was rainy and rainy, so I had to stay in a hostel. I met Guo Wei. I saw his extraordinary appearance and fell in love at first sight. Guo Wei also heard about Chai's virtuous character and admired it very much. Chai Shouli, the father who took her home, knew that her daughter's ambition could not be taken away, so she had to allow them to marry Guo Wei outside.

Chai Rong's family had gone from bad to worse when he was a child, so Chai Rong, who was still a minor, had to go to his aunt Chai, who married Guo Wei, to be with his squire. History calls Chai Rong "sincere" and helps Guo Wei to handle all kinds of affairs. He was deeply loved by Guo Wei and was adopted as an adopted son, and changed his name to Guo Rong. At that time, Guo Wei's family was not rich, and Chai Rong began to assume the responsibility of housekeeper before he became weak. After suffering, he is mature, good at financial management, good at thinking and good at scheduling.

In 936 AD (Tianfu two years at the end of Jin Dynasty), Chai Rong was sixteen years old, and Guo Wei's wife Chai died of illness. In order to support his family, Chai Rong went out to do business. Not far from Wan Li, he came to Jiangling (now Jiangling, Hubei) to sell tea, and he had a deeper understanding of the warmth and coldness of the world. "Chai Rong is careful about longitude, but Guo Wei is very sorry.". The mentality and experience of growing up polished his initial character and determined his later temperament and habits. When Chai Rong became an adult, he didn't dare to stop and do everything by himself, because he had formed a habit when he was a teenager. In the meantime, I learned riding and shooting, practiced martial arts, and read many historical books and Huang Lao's works, which increased my knowledge. Chai Rong's experience not only exercised him, but also gave him the opportunity to go deep into the lower classes of society and understand the sufferings of the people and the advantages and disadvantages of the local area, which is of great significance for future development.

Once, when he was selling tea in Jiangling, he saw a fortune teller named Shi and went to consult him with a friend who was in this line of work. Just before divination began, a dish-washing tree suddenly emerged from the grass and stood upright. The fortune teller was surprised and said, "More than ten generations in my family are fortune tellers, and I always remember my great-grandfather's last words. Any soothsayers and people who fall from the grass are expensive, and Li Zhuo is in a state of failure. Is it the master of the world? " Get up quickly and bow down again and again. Although Chai Rong pretended not to believe, he was very angry, but he was very happy inside. So, in the evening, he bought wine in the hotel, drank with his friends and jokingly said, "Shi said I should be emperor." If I need any officials once I get here, please let me know. " Jay Shi Die said, "In the past 30 years, every time I went to Luo Jing, I saw tax officials taking profits. I can earn a businessman's income for several months a day, and I envy it selfishly. " If the official is the son of heaven, I will be content to be a tax court in Luo Jing. "Chai Rong smiled and said," why is it so low? "From then on, Chai Rong had the idea of abandoning business to join the army and followed his adoptive father Guo Wei.

In 939 AD (the fourth year of Tianfu in the late Jin Dynasty), Chai Rong, who was under eighteen, abandoned business and joined the army. He spares no effort in his work and is proficient in literature and ink, so he is a literate soldier. Guo Wei, the adoptive father, has been providing Chai Rong with opportunities for experience. In his shadow, Chai Rong was able to display his talents on a bigger stage. He spent more time helping his adoptive father with his daily work, focused on governance, became familiar with the current drawbacks, and established a wide range of contacts.

In 947 AD (February, 12th year of Tianfu at the end of Jin Dynasty), Guo Wei and others helped Liu Zhiyuan proclaimed himself emperor in Taiyuan. In July of Yan State, when the later Han Dynasty established its capital in the capital city of Bianliang, Guo Wei was appointed as the deputy envoy of the Tang Dynasty with the help of life workers, and was also appointed as Cha Taibao. 27-year-old Chai Rong was appointed as the left-back general.

In 949 AD (the second year of Ganyou in the later Han Dynasty), when Guo Wei was appointed to stay in Yedu (now Daming in Hebei Province), Chai Rong, who was 29 years old at that time, was appointed as the commander of Tianxiong's teeth, leading the secretariat of Guizhou and checking the right servant.

In 950 A.D. (March of the 3rd year of Ganyou in the later Han Dynasty), Guo Wei was promoted as a Tang Dynasty envoy, in charge of Yedu and Tianxiong. Chai Rong has made great achievements in assisting Guo to keep simple in Yedu.

In 95 1 year (the first month of the first year of Guangxu reign in the later Zhou Dynasty), Guo Wei proclaimed himself emperor and changed his name to Zhou, which was called the latter Zhou in history. In the same month, Chai Rong, 3 1 year-old, was awarded the posts of our time, proofreading Taibao and Taiyuan Prince. After Chai Rong's ex-wife Liu was killed, Guo Wei married his adopted daughter Fu Shi. Fu's grandfather was Fu Cunshen, who was the prime minister in the Southern Tang Dynasty and the king of Qin in posthumous title. Father's name is Fu Yanqing, and he was appointed by Wang Wei by Tian Xiongjun in the later Zhou Dynasty. First, Fu married Li Chongxun, the son of Li Shouzhen, our post-Hanjiang messenger. After Li Shouzhen defected to the Han Dynasty, Guo Wei was ordered to conquer Li Shouzhen and met Fu Shi after capturing the lower city. Guo Wei and his father Fu Yanqing are good friends, so they gave it back to Fu Yanqing. Fu was grateful and worshipped Guo Wei as his adoptive father.

Chai Rong in order to rectify the government, don't let Tanzhou thieves invade the territory, a peaceful scene. In August of the same year, Guo Weili's deceased wife Chai was the queen. /kloc-in October/February, Chai Rong was appointed as a teacher and researcher of the school.

In 953 A.D. (March of the third year after the week), Wang Jun, an important official who was proud of Guo Wei and repeatedly played politics, went to other places. At the age of 33, Chai Rong took over Kaifeng Yin and Merit Ambassador from Kuizhou, and made him King of Jin. In August, Chai Rong's fourth son, Chai Zongxun (the first three sons were killed by Liu Chengyou of Yin Di in the later Han Dynasty) was born in the first state capital. /kloc-in October, Chai Rong was appointed as the ambassador. In December, Chai Rong accompanied the suburban temple in Guo Wei.

In 954 AD (the first month of the first year of Xiande in Zhou Dynasty), Guo Wei granted amnesty to the whole world, and changed Guangshun in Zhou Dynasty to the first year of Xiande. Chai Rong, a 34-year-old king of Jin, was appointed as Yin's assistant and sentenced to internal and external military affairs in Kaifeng. Feng, the minister in charge of life, served as a tutor, while Li Gujia served as a servant who wrote and supervised the revision of national history, and wang pu served as assistant minister of Zhongshu and Jinshi of Jixian Hall. When Guo Wei was seriously ill, he called his nephew Li Zhongjin into the palace and invited him to see Chai Rong, so as to decide the division between the monarch and the minister.

The late Guo Wei died of illness, leaving his last words: "Jin Neng acceded to the throne before his death." So, with the support of ministers, Chai Rong acceded to the throne in front of Guo Wei's coffin, which was called post-Zhou Shizong in history. In ancient times, when the feudal emperor ascended the throne, it was usually carried out in front of the coffin of the previous emperor to show the legitimacy of his position. In March of the same year, Chai Rong issued a national Amnesty, exempting the taxes owed by provincial governments last summer and autumn. In April, Guo Wei was buried in Songling, Guodian, Xinzheng (now Xinzheng, Henan). The name of the temple was Mao, and he was called Emperor Gong Su, a holy god.

Golden scales are not things in the pool, and the clouds will turn into dragons. Chai Rong's preparations for the throne were completed unconsciously. It took only sixteen years from the groom to the emperor, and the promotion speed was amazing. Guo Wei and Chai Rong were able to take the position of emperor, and their opportunity came from a tragedy.

In 947 AD (the third year of the latter Jin Dynasty), although the Liao Emperor Ye Ludeguang destroyed the latter Jin Dynasty, he failed to occupy the Central Plains for a long time. Liu Zhiyuan, who stayed in Taiyuan, proclaimed himself emperor with the help of Guo Wei and others, and established the post-Han Dynasty. Liu Zhiyuan trusted and pampered Guo Wei, and appointed him as a Tang Dynasty envoy (later as Deputy Marshal of the Jin Army). Liu Zhiyuan Fu Bo died young, and his son Liu Chengyou was transferred. Military and political power was entrusted to Guo Wei, Guo Wei, Guo Wei, Guo Wei, Guo Wei, Guo Wei and other officials who cared about their lives. He and Shi are both country people, unruly, overbearing and rude to the new king. Sue is a civil servant who is good at flattery and respect for the emperor. Liu Chengyou didn't want to roll with the punches, so he tore his face and beat him. With the help of the royal family, he killed Heshi and destroyed their nine families.

Guo Wei, the special envoy of the Tang Dynasty at that time, stayed behind, and his troops were stationed outside. He did not directly participate in the contradiction between Shi and the new king, but was listed as an accomplice, and Liu Chengyou issued a killing order against him. Guo Wei and Liu Zhiyuan are actually family friends, and Empress Dowager Cixi called them "family friends". But Liu Chengyou ignored this one. He asked his uncle Ye Li to secretly kill Guo Wei, but Ye Li gave the secret order to Guo Wei by mistake. Guo Wei could do nothing, so he expanded the list on the secret edict to people's schools, and the whole army was furious. Guo Wei rose up and killed the capital of song dynasty under the banner of "Jun Qing side", but left room for Liu Chengyou. Chai Rong was ordered to stay in Yedu, presided over Yedu's military and political affairs, and strongly supported Guo Wei's actions. But Liu Chengyou was killed. In the same year 1 1 month, Guo Wei's wife Zhang and her sons Qingge and Yige, her nephews Shoujun and Dingge, and Chai Rong's wife and Yige all committed suicide. At the beginning of the war, Liu Chengyou was defeated and killed by attendants on the way.

Guo Wei killed a soldier in the capital of song dynasty according to his promise to the sergeants in advance, and the battle-hardened Guo Wei lost the gentleness of women at ordinary times. Later, Guo Wei dared not be emperor, and announced that he welcomed Liu S (Yun), Liu Zhiyuan's cousin and son of Liu Chong, as emperor. At that time, Liu Chong was our Hedong era, which was quite powerful. Gal shows that he didn't mean to seize the position, and secondly, it is a tactic to delay the war, temporarily giving up Liu Chong's idea of revenge for his nephew Liu Chengyou.

Even if Guo Wei is willing, the interest groups centered on him will not be willing, and a new conspiracy is brewing. When the Khitan attack came to the north, Guo Wei led an army to meet them, and went to the named state (now Puyang, Henan). The soldier mutinied and put the yellow flag on Guo Wei. The coup made the soldiers understand that many problems can be solved with their brains. Ten years later, Zhao Kuangyin couldn't think of a better idea, so he simply drew a gourd ladle and added a yellow robe. Although the time and place of the two yellow robes are different, the form and result are exactly the same. After Guo Wei proclaimed himself emperor, he did not forget to be generous and thrifty. Yin Liuzhu, the Kaifeng Prefecture, who was ordered to kill his wife and abandon his children, only killed himself, instead of taking his anger out on his wife and children, and even gave them a farmhouse.

Guo Wei was in office for only three years. He reduced punishment, abolished exorbitant taxes and levies, and distributed official land to tenants, leaving a good reputation of loving the people. Guo Wei is a man with scruples. His scruples changed the tradition of revenge in the past, dispelled some violent qi accumulated in the Five Dynasties, and influenced the character of the Song Dynasty, at least the Northern Song Dynasty. Guo Wei has no sons and nephews alive, and his successor can only choose between his adopted son Chai Rong and his nephew Li Zhongjin. Guo Wei chose Chai Rong. There were no complicated harem and ministers in the later Zhou Dynasty, so there would be no conspiracy and killing around power, which made the transfer of power uneventful. History has pushed Chai Rong to the foreground.

At this time, in the prime of life, Zhou Shizong Chai Rong was ambitious and determined to follow his adoptive father's wishes and do something great. But he is also worried that unifying the world too soon will lead to failure. To this end, he asked Zuo Jian's doctor wang pu, who is proficient in mathematics, "How many years have I been?" Wang Pu replied: "I am an official and need to push with what I have learned. After 30 years, I don't know. " Chai Rong was overjoyed. He said: "If you say so, I should spend ten years to open the world, support the people and achieve peace!" " However, Chai Rong's reign was only five years and six months, which seems inconsistent with what Wang Pu said, but some people say that five times six is exactly thirty. Perhaps wang pu, who is proficient in digital art, knows that it is not convenient to speak out, so she has to be gentle. But in order to achieve this grand goal, Chai Rong made a timetable for the ruling process. He made great efforts to govern, determined to reform, and fought in the south and north, which opened the prelude to ending the division and unifying China, and laid a political and economic foundation for the establishment of the Northern Song Dynasty and the basic reunification of the country.
