The distribution map of Guilin in Song Dynasty belongs to Guangxi, Guangnan West Road, and later to Jingjiang Prefecture. The Yuan Dynasty belonged to Jingjiang Road, Zhongshu Province, Guangxi.

Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Guilin, Guangxi. In the Republic of China, it belonged to Guangxi Province.
