What are the famous mistakes in history? What are the serious consequences?
The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria was one of the most important triggers for the outbreak of World War I, but it was caused by a particularly stupid mistake. On that disastrous day, there were two assassinations. The first assassination attempt failed miserably, because the driver of Dagong managed to avoid the bomb that the assassin threw at the car. The explosion caused by it injured several bystanders and Dagong's entourage, but Dagong and his wife were not injured. After fleeing to safety, Dagong insisted on visiting the victims of the explosion. On the way to the hospital, the driver took a wrong turn and sent them directly to one of the assassins. Gavrilo Princip had been hiding in a coffee shop when he saw a car carrying the Ferdinand brothers coming. Just a few feet away, when the car tried to turn around, Princip fired two shots in succession. The bullet hit the target, and the Crown Prince and his wife died. Soon after, there was chaos.
