Lu's Ancestor History
According to legend, Shennong, the leader of ancient tribes in China, took Jiang as his surname because he lived in the river basin. Later, it developed eastward to the Central Plains, where it lived with the Huangdi tribe and was divided into four phratries (namely, Siyue). Boyi once assisted Yao Di in charge of the Four Mountains, and later helped Dayu to control the water, making him a "loyal minister". Therefore, he was named the Duke of Lu and the Shang and Zhou Dynasties were vassal states. In the early Spring and Autumn Period (680 BC), Lu was destroyed by Chu.
