Provincial and municipal regional culture?
In recent years, under the wave of market economy, local governments attach great importance to the study of regional culture and put the focus of economic development on the development of regional culture. Tourism culture, food culture, clothing culture, wine culture, tea culture, architectural culture, religious culture and so on, which are in the ascendant all over the country, have shown strong development benefits and potential. This idea and practice of closely linking culture with economy is undoubtedly worthy of recognition, because it improves people's cultural literacy, cultural content and product taste to a certain extent, thus increasing social and economic benefits.

Some scholars have suggested that regional culture refers to the cultures of different regions in China in the pre-Qin period. Some experts believe that regional culture refers to the distinctive archaeological culture created by people in specific areas of China at specific historical stages. Some scholars divide regional culture into broad sense and narrow sense, and think that the narrow sense of regional culture refers to the sum of material wealth and spiritual wealth in different regions of China in the pre-Qin period; Regional culture in a broad sense refers to the sum of material wealth and spiritual wealth in different regions of China. Time refers to all cultural heritage from ancient times to the present. After repeated research and discussion, most experts and scholars attending the meeting agreed that "regional culture refers to a cultural tradition that has a long history and unique characteristics in a specific area of China and is still playing a role."

Regional culture is the historical remains, cultural forms, social customs, production and lifestyle that have been formed for a long time within a certain geographical scope.

First of all, regional culture lies in its obvious regionality. The differences in cultural forms between one region and another make the culture of our Chinese nation diversified. Due to the inconvenient transportation in ancient times, the administrative regions were relatively independent, and the cultural forms in different regions also had different styles. Each region had its own characteristics, such as Han culture, Guanlong (Sanqin) culture, Bashu culture, Central Plains culture, Songliao culture, Wuyue culture, Jingchu culture, Lingnan culture and so on.

Second, the formation process of regional culture is long-term. The formation of the Chinese nation has experienced thousands of years of history, and the cultural forms of various places have also formed their own characteristics in the evolution of thousands of years. The more historical sites there are in a region, the more developed its culture will be. The names of most regional cultures come from the names of vassal States in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period two or three thousand years ago, such as Qin, Ba, Shu, Jing, Chu, Wu and Yue. Although these vassal States no longer exist, they remain as their own cultural forms, which have long influenced people in this area.

Third, the regional culture has mutual penetration and inclusiveness. Nothing in any form can exist in isolation, especially in ancient China. During most of the period, the regime was unified, and people from all over the country flowed with each other, naturally infiltrating and influencing each other. As the culture of the suzerain region, it naturally contains foreign culture; Especially at the intersection of several cultural regions, a distinctive culture with several regional cultural characteristics has been formed. For example, Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province, located in the upper reaches of Hanshui River, has the characteristics of Long culture in the north, frontier culture in the west, Bashu culture in the south and Jingchu culture in the east, forming a unique Chinese culture. Fourth, the universality of regional cultural expression. As a culture in the sense of big concept, it includes all levels from social ideology to production and life. People in different regions have different customs and languages of production and life.

Based on the above thinking, we should study regional culture not only based on the studied region, but also not limited to the studied region. We should study its regional characteristics and its relationship with the nearby regional culture. It is necessary to study the culture of the vassal States of Qin, Ba and Shu, its historical origin and realistic expression. We should not only study the narrow cultural form of its appearance, but also study the deep and all-round cultural core that determines and guides ideology. Only in this way can we deeply understand the cultural characteristics of a certain region from the vertical, horizontal, surface and internal levels, so as to better develop regional culture and serve the local economic and cultural construction and social development.

At present, there are some phenomena worth studying in using regional culture to develop tourism and promote products: many places vigorously develop historical sites, historical celebrity activities and traditional cultural activities to develop tourism; Some use local cultural resources to name enterprises and their products, or as product advertisements to stimulate consumption, and so on. People are used to calling this practice "building a stage for culture and singing opera for economy". From the perspective of market economy, this practice is a good thing, because to some extent, it combines culture with local economy, promotes economic development, makes people influenced by culture in life, production and entertainment, and improves the cultural literacy of the whole society, which is undoubtedly worthy of recognition.

At present, there are also some situations, that is, when some places develop tourism, develop products and promote products, they disregard historical truth and create false "historical sites" and humanistic "resources" based on hearsay or speculation. Some people lied about historical celebrities, saying that someone here had done something to promote the memorial tomb into a real tomb and strive for the ancestral home of a famous wine. For example, in one place, only 100 years has been produced. On the one hand, these practices enable people (especially teenagers) to obtain false and incorrect knowledge, on the other hand, they confuse the true face of history and make it impossible for future generations to understand the true situation of local history. No wonder some people question whether it is true or not after visiting "historic sites".

Our Chinese nation has a long history and culture. No matter where we are in the motherland, as long as we dig carefully, we can dig out many fascinating regional cultures, because the scope of regional culture is very broad. For example, historical events, historical sites, historical figures, traditional production tools, production methods, living habits, customs, costumes, folk houses, architectural styles, traditional literary forms, musicals, religious beliefs, and even natural landscapes and natural resources in specific areas are all good regional cultural resources that can be developed and utilized. With such rich resources (for a certain region, of course, each has its own emphasis), we

How to reflect local regional culture in local chronicles is a new topic for the new round of local chroniclers. Judging from the history of the development of local chronicles, in ancient China, some local chroniclers did not have the conditions and skills for textual research because of the relatively closed traffic culture and lack of information, or deliberately raised their hometown reputation, so they wrote some "historical materials" that were not strictly examined and inaccurate at that time into local chronicles, which caused confusion for us to study history today. Mistakes in old chronicles often make some serious historians afraid to quote them. The author once came into contact with a local historical expert. He said, "I never believe in old local chronicles. Some people who compile local chronicles often don't understand history, blindly draw celebrities, hearsay and subjective judgment, and the gap between facts and history is too great. " Although the above situation has changed in the first compilation of local chronicles after the founding of the People's Republic of China, there are still many places where the textual research is not strict and the old chronicles are wrong.

At present, the second national compilation of local chronicles is about to begin. First of all, we should make it clear whether we should stick to the historical materialism and seek truth from facts, or continue to follow the old path or even create new fallacies. Some administrative leaders hold that the compilation of local chronicles must be consistent with the current tourism, product development and economic development, and cannot be written according to historical records. Although the starting point of this idea is good, it is irresponsible for history.

Several concepts must be clarified here:

First, regional culture should be promoted and serve economic development, but it must be based on seeking truth from facts, and economic benefits cannot be obtained by deceiving consumers.

Secondly, the record belongs to the history of faith, "history is not a girl dressed for anyone", and it must be true and accurate, otherwise it will lose the significance of compiling history and local chronicles and the value of local chronicles; The historical mistakes in the old and new chronicles must be resolutely corrected, and we must never follow the trend and artificially create and fabricate history, even if it has considerable economic development value, we must resolutely abandon it.

Third, strictly distinguish between tourism, economic development, advertising and compilation and revision of local chronicles. For the former, as local chroniclers, we have the obligation to explain the true situation of history, but we have no right and can't interfere; For the latter, that is, the occupation we are engaged in, we must adhere to the principles of "historical morality" and "historical knowledge" and maintain the authenticity of history, that is, maintain the historical position of local chronicles. If today's local chronicles are casually smeared with secular and commercial needs, why can future generations study one side of history? A local chronicle, originally a master of regional culture, truly reflects the local cultural conditions in all aspects and describes the differences and characteristics between local regional culture and other regions. Reading and using local chronicles well can fully serve the local economic development and construction. Why resort to deceit and engage in false "culture"?
