What do you mean by "Gucuo"?
Ancient buildings refer to ancient houses, which are built in imitation of the architectural style of "Imperial Palace".

"CuO" is a characteristic appellation of ancient houses and old buildings in Fujian dialect. This kind of building originated from Guanghua period in Tang Zhaozong, and it is a traditional residence with distinctive features in Fuzhou and southern Fujian. The ancient CuO group is most famous in Nan 'an and Jinjiang of Quanzhou.

In Minnan dialect, "CuO" is a house, and red brick CuO is a house made of red bricks, which is also the most representative traditional building in southern Fujian. Minnan people's good wishes for life have also brewed rich and colorful architectural expressions of red brick buildings, forming a profound and unique red brick culture.

Jinjiang gucuo

Located in the southeast coast of Fujian, it has a long history. The ancient dwellings in Jinjiang are not only different from the land in the north and the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River, but also different from the mountainous areas in the south. Jinjiang ancient dwellings not only inherited the tradition of Han people in the Central Plains, but also were deeply influenced by the marine culture of Fujian and Guangdong people, creating a variety of residential buildings.
