There are many writing methods handed down from ancient times, including longan method, eye-catching method, light mining method, two-finger method, three-finger method, four-finger method, single hook method, double hook method, tube twisting method, tube pinching method, tube grasping method, tube grasping method, and wrist returning method with both hands. The methods we use now are: weight-bearing method, egg-holding method, vertical method and flat wrist method. It is more correct, reasonable and practical, and conforms to the physiological characteristics of people's wrists and the law of using pens. According to legend, it was handed down by the "two kings". After Lu Xisheng's victory in the Tang Dynasty, it spread to Qian Ruoshui in the Song Dynasty and was made public.
The essentials of five-finger writing are: real finger, palm deficiency, palm vertical, wrist flat and straight tube.
1. Real
This statement has been circulated for a long time and has been recognized by calligraphers of all ages. However, it is not easy for beginners or people who are inexperienced in calligraphy to grasp the essentials. Specifically, the fingers should have the power to hold the pen, the outer four fingers are close to each other, and the joints are outward, dense but not loose. Special attention should be paid to make the middle joint of the inner thumb protrude outward, make the tiger's mouth round like a stirrup, make the five fingers work together, and make the pen solid and powerful, which also helps to lift the pen and make it moderately elastic. Because it is too tight, it is not easy to use; It's too loose to work. Pointing to reality, we can achieve no false hair, no ink overflow, focus on our hearts and write steadily. "
2. Insufficient palms
That is, when writing, your palm should be empty, your fingers should not be bent, and you should not stick your ring finger and little finger on your palm as if you were holding an egg in your hand. The gap between thumb and forefinger should be wider. Only in this way can the pen be steady and flexible and write beautifully.
Palm up
Upright palm means to stand up when writing. Only when the palm of your hand is upright can the front be straight, the front be regular and full of potential, and you can run freely.
4. Wrist level
Wrist level means that the wrist should be parallel to the desktop. Kang Youwei said: "If you want to do your best, you must stand flat on your wrist." Because the pipe is straight, the front is straight, which has a lot to do with the movement of the wrist and the vertical palm. The palm is vertical and the wrist is flat, the tube is straight, and the elbow is hung with a pen, which is both flexible and powerful.
Keep the pipe straight.
Straightening refers to keeping the pen tube perpendicular to the paper when writing, so that the strokes can be easily kept in the center. However, in the specific process of pen transportation, the pen tube sometimes has to be tilted. What is important is that it is inclined, it can be straight and its center of gravity is stable. In addition, the level of writing should be appropriate, and the level of writing depends on the type and size of the font and the length of the pen tube. Generally speaking, writing small characters should be lower, about an inch from the beginning of the written word. If it is too low, the strokes will be cramped and not free. Write in Chinese letters or big characters, and the pen should be higher, about two inches; Write higher in block letters and cursive pens, about three inches. The higher you write, the greater the swing range and the easier it is to swing. But it is too high, the pen is floating, and the strokes are weak and boneless.
When writing Chinese characters standing up, the twisting tube writing method is usually adopted, that is, the thumb and forefinger, middle finger and ring finger hold the upper end of the pen and hold it high, and the fingers are still required to be empty and Qi Li. This kind of writing is suitable for writing big characters, or cursive or crazy grass. To write extra-large characters or topic walls with a bucket pen is to hold the inside of the pen with your thumb and apply force from the inside to the right. The index finger, the middle finger and the ring finger hold the outside of the barrel side by side, and the force is applied in the opposite direction to the thumb. The little finger is attached to the bottom, and your elbow and wrist are lifted high, and your arm is used instead of the pen. This writing is called barrel throwing. Another way to write extra-large words is to return your wrists with both hands. It holds the upper end of the pen holder with its left hand and applies force from left inside to right outside; Hold the lower end of the penholder with your right hand and apply force from the right outside to the left inside. In this way, you can write heroic Chinese characters with Qi Li's hand.
