The origin of Jimo's name
According to official website, the people's government of Jimo District, Qingdao, Shandong Province, we can know that Jimo's name comes from its proximity to the Mohe River.

Its name first appeared in historical books such as Warring States Policy, Mandarin and Historical Records. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was a famous trading place of Qi, and the county was ruled by Qin. In the early Han Dynasty, it became the political, economic and cultural center of Jiaodong, and the Sui Dynasty built the city at its present site, with a history of 1400 years. Cultural relics such as the ancient city of Gao Yu in Han Dynasty, the tomb of Wang Ji, the manor house in Han Dynasty, the ancient courtyard of Xiong Ya in Ming Dynasty, the ancient guard of Aoshan, the ancient port of Jinkou in Qing Dynasty, the wonderful lotus sutra in Northern Song Dynasty and Jimo knife coins have become the witness of Jimo's long history and culture. 1898, Germany forcibly leased JIAOZHOU bay to separate Qingdao from Jimo. In history, there is Jimo first, then Qingdao, and there is also a saying that "a thousand years of Jimo, a hundred years of Qingdao". Jimo has unique advantages in land, sea and air, superior natural conditions and rich tourism resources such as mountains, seas, islands, springs and beaches. The climate is warm and humid, with an annual average temperature of 12℃, without intense heat in summer and severe cold in winter. Tian Heng Sea Sacrifice and Jimo Liuqiang are included in the national intangible cultural heritage, and the long history and rich natural and cultural landscape have built the unique charm of Jimo.
