Does the geography major of Sun Yat-sen University share the postgraduate entrance examination?

Hello, students. I took the physical geography major in Sun Yat-sen University this year, and now I have landed. In this issue, I want to share with you some of my postgraduate entrance examination experience and some exams in my school ~

Sun Yat-sen University, referred to as CUHK, is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is a comprehensive national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and Guangdong Province, and ranks among the national "double first-class", "985 Project" and "21/project".

Sun Yat-sen University can be said to be the number one strong school in Guangdong and even South China. Many students asked: Is CUHK exclusive? Discrimination? As far as I know, CUHK does not discriminate against undergraduate colleges and universities for students who take the unified examination. Every year, many students from the College of Geology and Planning take double-pass or cross-pass exams. The score is the only criterion, and the second interview is fair. I plan to go to Guangzhou or the south for development in the future. I hope Sun Yat-sen University is a very good choice for students who want to attend 985.

Campus gourmet

The School of Geographical Sciences and Planning is located in the East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University, which is the university town area of Guangzhou. There are five canteens in the East Campus: the first canteen, the second canteen, the third canteen, the fourth canteen and the administrative building canteen.

Each canteen has its own flavor, and the first, second, third and fourth canteens have diverse dishes and affordable prices; The dining hall of the administrative building is located by the lake, with beautiful scenery and close to the teaching building.

Besides Guangzhou's special delicacies (boiled chicken, roasted goose, roast suckling pig, fried beef river, Guangdong morning tea, beef offal and wonton noodles), there are the first porridge, boat porridge, rice rolls, lotus leaf rice and egg cake. ), there are many delicious foods in big hotels all over the country.

Campus environment

Guangzhou belongs to the maritime subtropical monsoon climate, which is warm and rainy with sufficient light and heat. CUHK's campus is naturally evergreen and full of flowers. Besides many cats, there are many lovely birds! ?

Analysis of the examination situation in colleges and universities

First, the enrollment directory

Physical geography in Sun Yat-sen University takes math 2 and English 1.

In the past 22 years, mathematics has been changed from self-proposition to unified mathematics examination, which is more conducive to data collection and preparation, and is also more conducive to adjustment.

Second, the bibliography

Sun Yat-sen University 85 1 Physical Geography did not give a clear bibliography. According to the real questions in previous years, Wu Guang and the fourth edition of Physical Geography are recommended.

Third, the registration situation

Physical geography registration:

2 1 year recruits 13 people, free of test 1 person, recruits 12 people in the unified recruitment plan, and actually recruits 12 people;

In 22 years, we planned to recruit 10 people, 3 people were exempted from the test, 7 people were enrolled in the unified recruitment plan, and 7 people were actually admitted.

Natural geographical record ratio:

In recent years, CUHK no longer announces the enrollment ratio. According to the number of applicants of 19, the enrollment ratio is about 5: 1, which is more prominent among universities in other regions. Compared with other 985 colleges and universities, the enrollment ratio is close to 10: 1, which is full of sincerity. It is estimated that there will be no major changes in recent years.

Generally speaking, there are fewer people who register for physical geography, but the number of applicants is relatively small.

Physical geography retest ratio:

This year, the proportion of physical geography re-examination is 1: 2, that is, 14 people enter the re-examination, and the final admission number is 7 people. However, students should not worry too much about the second interview at this stage. According to the admission situation in previous years, the final ranking will change slightly after the re-examination, but there is almost no high score, so the focus is on the preliminary test results.

What you have to do now is to take the time to learn the content of the preliminary test. The higher the score of the initial test, the more stable the second test.

Public * * * class:

I believe that the resources of public courses have been flying all over the internet for so many years. The strategy of my public course is to follow the crowd, and the energy ratio of the two courses should not exceed 50%.

1, politics

My history is relatively good, and I am interested in history (mainly modern history, Mao Zong and Shi Gang are really in the same strain), so I paddle a little politically and put more energy (for politics) on Ma Yuan. Because, if you don't study, Ma Yuan's multiple-choice question will really lose points, and you really can't understand it if you don't attend class. My personal experience is to listen to my sister's class in summer vacation, brush the questions (sometimes I brush the political election when I can't finish the professional courses at night), and then assist the skills class in September. Generally speaking, politics accounts for about 15% of my review energy. By the way, it's hard to get high marks and low marks in politics. As long as you don't hold back, you should concentrate more on professional courses. After all, the marks are there.

2. English

When I was a sophomore, I passed Band 4. At that time, my goal was 50 points (about 40 points in the science single subject line), which generally met my own requirements.

Remember one sentence, English determines whether you can go to graduate school or not, and professional courses determine how many places you can rank. English must be taken seriously. Every year, there is a tragedy that the total score is high but the single subject English is not up to standard.

(1) word

Words are the foundation of everything, because it is useless for readers not to recite words, understand articles, or even understand topics and options.

It is not recommended to watch the word class. Really, there are too many words to recite for a few hours in a class. Just put the back of your hand on it. I am ashamed to say that I only memorized about 2000, first the disorganized version of New Oriental, and then the core word of 1500. Generally speaking, that's enough.

Remember: review! ! !

Step 2 read

Be sure to watch the reading class with Mr. Tang Chi. Don't worry at first. Understand every article bit by bit, and then speed up. Generally speaking, in the end, my requirement for myself is that the first two articles must be correct for seven articles, and the last two articles must strive for five articles.

(3) Writing and translation

Be sure to pay attention! ! The grading standards are different in different regions. For example, if Heilongjiang Province is really loose, prepare a general template for each composition (don't remember too much, you will get confused then). I began to prepare for writing and translation in early February.

II. Specialized courses (I 634 Geographic Basis 126, 834 Geographic Information System 1 16)

My personal situation is that I study science (materialized students) in senior three. The last contact with geography was in the winter of 202 1. Fortunately, I passed the exam successfully, which gave me confidence to cross the geography exam. These two specialized courses cost me about 60% of my energy.

Generally speaking, it is not very difficult, because when choosing institutions, I chose a school with a large number of enrollment places (*** 134 people entered the second interview). Compared with the students who fought side by side today, it is really more choice than hard work. If you choose a school that is too high regardless of your personal ability, the probability of success will be greatly reduced. If it's just for graduate education, Harbin Normal University is still quite good.

What is really full of fear is actually the first days. Because of cross-discipline, cross-region, so completely blind, especially professional courses, uncertain difficulty and exam focus. When I didn't have the direction and specific content to work hard, I chose Wen Jia to take the postgraduate entrance examination.

Because you are a person, working aimlessly on the information you bought, you will really feel at a loss. And every knowledge point in the textbook will be related. Simply looking at knowledge points will not only be boring, but also make you constantly doubt yourself. Because of the cross-examination, three specialized courses (physical geography, human geography,

Geographic information system)

There are many things I can't understand in these three books. At this time, rote memorization will be really desperate.

When I was most desperate, the teacher who took the postgraduate entrance examination in Wen Jia helped me find a senior with high marks who was two years older than me (4 10+ is really fierce). Start with the most basic textbooks, and smooth them bit by bit, and sum up all the knowledge points that need to be memorized, as well as their relationship and memorizing skills. After all, it is really easy to recite the questions on the basis of understanding.

At the same time, the senior told me the main points of the exam, which saved me a lot of useless work. Some knowledge points that have not been tested for 20 years can be boldly thrown away directly, as well as the ideas of teachers who have given questions in these years. It can be said that without the help of the head teacher and the senior, my professional course would never have achieved such results.

With the passage of time, I gradually got on the right track during the summer vacation and began to get used to reciting professional courses every day.

Fourth, the latest retest line changes

The retest line of 202 1 is 3 15, and that of 2022 is 3 15, unchanged.

Senior sister's idea

1, specialized course questions

From 20 15 to 20 18, the types of questions vary greatly, there are fill-in-the-blank questions, and the scores are not fixed.

After 20 19, the questions and scores are fixed, including 8 noun explanations, 4 short answers and 2 expositions. Compared with other professional courses, the number of questions is relatively small.

2, the characteristics of the problem

Sun Yat-sen University 85 1 Physical Geography has no bibliography, so every year there are 1~3 questions that have not appeared in Wu Guanghe's book, but as long as you master the contents of the book, you can basically answer them.

As far as each question type is concerned, the repetition rate of noun explanation is high; Short answer questions and essay questions are very flexible and difficult, but the focus is fixed, focusing on hydrology and soil, and paying great attention to the comprehensive analysis ability and research thinking of physical geography.

In addition, in the past two years, English professional vocabulary has been investigated, but they are all relatively basic vocabulary, and the repetition rate of English vocabulary published in these two years is also relatively high, which will not cause difficulties to candidates. So be sure to get to the point. Besides memorizing English vocabulary for postgraduate entrance examination, you should also spare some time to memorize English professional vocabulary every day!

In short, the writing style of questions in the past three years is very consistent with the distribution of knowledge points in each question, so it is necessary to comprehensively master and even model the real questions in the past three years! Students who don't have real questions for three years can buy the whole class of the Earth Postgraduate Entrance Examination Center, and there will be seniors and sisters who will analyze and expand the real questions in great detail.

3. Review key chapters of reference books

The third to eighth chapters of Guangwu and Physical Geography are chapters with many topics, which need to be familiar with. Among them, the fourth and fifth chapters are rivers, and the sixth and seventh chapters are the most important:

Chapter III Atmosphere and Climate System

Chapter IV Ocean and Land Water

Chapter V Geomorphology

Chapter VI PEDOSPHERE

Chapter VII Biological Communities and Ecosystems

Chapter VIII Comprehensive Study of Physical Geography

Students who have spare capacity can look at the hydrological content of undergraduate study, or have some related extensions in the materials of the geoscience postgraduate entrance examination center.

Step 4 view suggestions

(1) It is the first time to combine the reference book "Notes on High Scores in Textbooks" from beginning to end, understand the overall content and structure as well as the key points of the exam, and make a mind map through logical sorting.

(2) For the second time, recite and supplement the high-score notes of the textbook in combination with the frequency of real questions in each chapter over the years. According to the importance of the exam, it is divided into key points and sub-key points, and the total recitation is 2~3 rounds.

(3) One month before the exam, focus on reciting the answers to geographical questions, sprint manuals and hot questions in the past ten years, and deepen the impression of important and difficult points repeatedly.

(4) simulate the real questions or simulated test papers for nearly three years once a week three weeks before the exam, learn the answering skills and summarize them.

6. Re-examination experience

This year, due to the epidemic situation, the second interview was still conducted online, requiring dual-machine positions, and the platform was Tencent Conference.

Final total score = initial total score (out of 500 points)+retest total score (out of 500 points)

Re-examination content and score composition:

In principle, the content of the second interview should be composed of comprehensive evaluation (100), foreign language application ability test (100) and professional ability and comprehensive quality evaluation (300).

Re-examination materials are mainly specialized courses for the first time, but you still need to know a lot about tutors and read articles and cutting-edge hotspots sent by teachers. In addition to your full preparation, whether by signing up for class or looking for a research friend, you should simulate more. After many simulations, you can find a better rhythm and sum up your own precautions.

Don't panic during the interview. Self-confidence, generosity and smile are enough to leave a good impression on the teacher.

Finally, I want to share with you a passage I liked in the middle of February last year (65438+):

The most brilliant day in a person's life is not the day when he succeeds, but the day when he challenges life from lamentation and despair and bravely marches forward to his will.

Key points: don't hesitate, don't worry! People who have paid don't care about the amount of money, and don't care about the gains and losses of temporary entertainment. When you land, everything is worth it. I hope that under the sunshine next winter, every effort can get the result I want.

There is too much anxiety, depression and self-doubt in the process of postgraduate entrance examination, but each of us can coexist peacefully with these negative emotions, and then bite the bullet and stick to it. In fact, for the whole preparation process of postgraduate entrance examination, the most important thing is to find a good direction, study hard and always believe in your efforts unconditionally.

I wish everyone can break through themselves and land successfully in the process of preparing for the exam! Senior sister is waiting for you at cuhk!
