On one occasion, Zhao Gao once committed a "big crime" (probably stealing ladies' underwear), and Meng Ke rudely sentenced him to death. After Qin Shihuang's pardon, he was excused.
After the death of the late Emperor, Meng Tian was hated by Fu Su's younger brother Hu Hai for supporting the former Prince Fu Su, which would enable Zhao Gao to seize the opportunity and immediately bring Meng Yi to justice. Zhao Gao said, "Meng Qian urged Fu Su to be a prince. Please kill it. " Qin Ershi refused, hesitated for a moment, and didn't care much. He still felt that Montessori was a pillar of the country, and killing him was equivalent to breaking his arm. So Zhao Gao slandered Meng Jiao day and night, begged Meng Jiao to be guilty, and blackened Meng Jiao. Qin Ershi thought, since he is such a bad guy, he won't unite with me, so kill him.
Zi Ying, the royal family of Qin (who later succeeded Hu Hai, killed Zhao Gao and surrendered to Liu Bang, and was killed by Xiang Yu) once advised Qin Ershi not to kill Meng Wei. Zi Ying compared the death of Meng Zhen to Zhao Wangqian's killing of Li Mu, which was the beginning of national subjugation and debauchery.
There is another saying, but it seems to be unofficial history. Two years before Qin Shihuang's death, Zhao Gao, a eunuch who supported Hu Hai, framed Meng Tian as one of the masterminds of the prince's rebellion. Qin Shihuang gave Meng Tian a letter of death. Meng Tian's crime at that time was to punish nine ethnic groups, and Meng Yi was naturally included in the list of killing them. After Meng Yi fled, he plotted to rehabilitate Montaigne and kill Zhao Gao, but he was killed by Wang Ben, the son of Wang Jian who inherited the position of the first general of Qin Dynasty. The real Mencius should die before Qin Shihuang, not just a few days later than Qin Shihuang as in the play.
