The Yangtze River flows through the ancient city of Nanjing. Left many beautiful scenery in Nanjing. Yanziji is a beautiful place among them. In ancient times, people called the rocks or Koishiyama with prominent riverbanks "rocks", and there were many rocky riverbanks along the Yangtze River. Among the many "rocks" in the Yangtze River, three are famous for their huge size. They are Yanziji in Nanjing, Caishiji in Anhui and Chenglingji in Hunan. Among them, Yanziji in Nanjing is the largest, so it has become the "first of the three strange stones" in the Yangtze River.
Due to its unique geographical conditions, Yanziji has been an elegant place for the ancients to recall the past on the river since ancient times. According to local legend, 1300 years ago, the great poet Li Bai came here. It is said that he used stones as drinking water in Yanziji and asked for wine. As a result, he drank a story of swallowing the river and getting drunk. More than 600 years ago, Zhu Yuanzhang, the boss of the Ming Dynasty, landed from Yanziji with a group of brothers and entered Nanjing City, which opened the Ming Dynasty. 270 years ago, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty visited the south of the Yangtze River six times, and five of them came to Yanziji ... Up to now, the traces left by these lords in Yanziji can still be vividly remembered by current tourists.
But to be honest, the traces left by the emperors and poets mentioned above always seem a little superficial to Yan Ziji. Because there was once a' re', it was this' re', which made the brothers Mr. Li, Mr. Zhu and Aisin Gioro pale at once.
94 years ago, in March of 1927, Tao Xingzhi, an Anhui native, came to the north of Nanjing and founded Xiaozhuang Experimental Rural Normal School. His school is not too far from Yanziji. So Mr. Tao often comes to Yanziji. He found that some young people came to Yanziji to throw themselves into the river because of the troubles of life, family or career. Mr. Tao is very sad about this. So he asked someone to make a big wooden sign on Yanziji. Mr. Tao wrote the six characters "Think about it, you can't die" on the wooden sign to advise the suicide. Mr. Tao also wrote a few lines of small print under the big characters, which roughly means: "People are born for big things, and go for big things. You are in the prime of life, you want to save a country, you want to love someone. How could you kill yourself? Death is heavier than Mount Tai, or lighter than a feather. Instead of dying in the river, why not engage in rural education and work hard for the 34 million compatriots in China! "
I believe that Mr. Tao's sincere words must have saved many impulsive and confused young lives. In my heart, such compassion is far more meaningful than the nonsense of the old man in Yuting, who stands at the head of Yanziji. Mr. Tao's wooden sign has disappeared. Fortunately, later generations found Mr. Tao's handwriting and carved these six words on the stone tablet to commemorate it in Shantou.
In my opinion, this is the most precious cultural relic and heritage of Yanziji. Although no one will die in Yanziji again, this sentence is meaningful at the moment. In the present difficult and bitter competition for survival, everyone is not easy. Many people may choose to give up their goals because of hardships, difficulties and disappointment. This is also a kind of "suicide" and the "death" of ideals, beliefs and wishes.
At this time, we should all "think about it". Ideals and beliefs cannot die!
