How rare is it for Jilin wetland to welcome hundreds of oriental storks?
October is the season for migratory birds to migrate. More than 600 oriental storks are welcome to stay here for food in Momoge National Nature Reserve, Jilin Province, so as to accumulate strength for moving south next month. There are only about 3,000 oriental storks in the world, and they are known as "giant pandas of birds". It is rare for such a large number of oriental storks to appear in the reserve.

Momoge National Nature Reserve in Jilin Province is located in Zhenlai County, Baicheng City, Jilin Province, in the west of Songnen Plain. There are many rivers and lakes in the reserve, and their habitats are complex and diverse. This is a typical wetland type reserve.

10, in the nature reserve, reeds sway and birds contend. In the vast waters, flocks of oriental storks sometimes stroll leisurely, sometimes look down and sometimes fly. In late autumn, the crisp crows spread in all directions.

Oriental stork is a kind of large waterfowl, and its living environment is extremely strict. It should not only have vast space and sufficient food, but also ensure environmental safety. If I am disturbed, I probably won't come again.

Historically, it was an important migration habitat for oriental storks. In the 1980s and 1990s, the number of oriental storks reached its peak, about 1000, but since then, the ecological environment has been destroyed and the number of oriental storks has been reduced to less than 100.

In recent years, Jilin officials have promoted ecological environment management to a new height, and vigorously explored new mechanisms and models for wetland protection and restoration. As a result, Momoge National Nature Reserve in Jilin has benefited a lot and regained its vitality.

At present, Momoge Wetland has been listed by IUCN as one of the most important stopovers for the transnational migration of endangered species cranes. There are 298 species of birds 16 orders, 50 families, which can be described as "bird paradise".
