What stands out between the lines is the idea of equality between men and women. Putting men and women on the same level is also the real "chastity" advocated in the ancient Confucian moral system.
But in the ancient feudal period, the ancients' "chastity view" was not like this at all. In the consciousness of most of them, "chastity" is an obligation that belongs only to women, and it is also the responsibility that every woman has to bear.
Even women in the feudal period held the same idea and regarded "chastity" as more important than their own lives, forming a very distorted "chastity view".
After marrying your "husband", it becomes her husband's property. Even if the betrothed but unmarried fiance dies, they should always ensure their chastity, keep their virginity for their husbands, and even die. They would rather die than defend their virginity.
In other words, in the consciousness of these "chaste" women in ancient feudal times, "chastity" means that they can't have any physical contact with anyone other than their father before marriage, and they can't have any physical contact with anyone other than their husband after marriage, and they will keep it until their death.
If you have unpleasant contact with others, it will be regarded as "dishonor". For some extreme women in the feudal period, "dishonour" meant losing everything, so there were those "tragedies" mentioned above.
