With the active preparation of nearly 200 people from Jinjiang Sichuan Restaurant, Jinjiang Tea Room and Shanghai Restaurant, Jinjiang Hotel officially opened on June 9, 195 1. A few days before the opening, the hotel advertised in the major newspapers in Shanghai at that time, and published it every day, expecting the hotel to become an instant hit in Shanghai. The earliest advertisement in the hotel archives was published in Jiefang Daily on June 6th, 195 1. The other is an advertisement published in news daily on the opening day.
