The "Glorious Revolution" established two basic principles of constitutional monarchy: the restriction of royal power and the supremacy of parliamentary power. Limiting the kingship is to divide and overhead the monarch's power by means of parliamentary decentralization, so that the king is restricted by law and parliament. The supremacy of parliamentary power means that the parliament becomes the permanent highest legislative body and holds the most important state power such as legislation, finance, justice and military affairs.
