The ancient history of China has gone through the following stages: primitive society (1.7 million years ago-2070 BC), slave society (2070 BC-476 BC) and feudal society.
The primitive society in China experienced two stages: primitive man and clan commune, from Yuanmou man about1700,000 years ago to the eve of the establishment of Xia Dynasty in 2070 BC. Clan commune includes matriarchal clan commune and paternal clan commune.
In 2070 BC, Yu established the Xia Dynasty. Xia Dynasty was the earliest slave country in China. From 2070 BC to 476 BC, the slave society in China lasted about 15600 years.
