Hefei is called Liuhe for short, and it was called Luzhou, Luyang and Hefei in ancient times. In the Neolithic Age, there were human activities in Hefei. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it belonged to Chu, Wu and Yue successively, and then to Chu and Qin Shihuang for twenty-six years (22 1 year ago). In the twelfth year (before 163), Huainan County was changed to Huainan Kingdom. Hefei is an ancient city with a history of more than 2000 years. It is named because both Donghefei River and Nanhefei River originated here. Hefei is known as "Hometown of Three Kingdoms and Hometown of Bao Zheng".
Hefei County is located in the Qin Dynasty. From the Sui Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Hefei has always been the seat of Luzhou Prefecture, so it is also called "Luzhou" and "Luyang".
