Kuizhe can be found in Shu Shun Dian, Guoyu Lu Yu and Zuo Zhuan Xi Gong Twenty-six Years. He is either a music official, a strange man of wood and stone, or a country name. Shuowen is like a dragon. Tsongba Elephants have horns, hands and faces.

The dragon patterns on bronzes are usually called Kuiwen and Longkui patterns. Since the Song Dynasty, all reptiles-like objects on bronzes have been called Kuiyi, which is a reference to "Kuiyi" in ancient books. In fact, an animal with one leg is a profile of a biped, so the word Kuiwen is not used, it is called dragon pattern or dragon pattern. In bronze patterns, all animals with thick and tangled bodies can be attributed to dragons, which are called dragon patterns.
