Sichuan University's School of History and Culture is comprehensive, with three undergraduate majors: history, archaeology and museum science. There are eight doctoral programs in ancient history of China, archaeology and museology, specialized history, modern history of China, historical philology and world history, and there are post-doctoral research stations in history and Tibetan research bases of the Ministry of Education.

The history discipline of Sichuan University has a long tradition, which can be traced back to Zunjing Academy and Sichuan universities in the late Qing Dynasty. 1902 foreign history courses offered in Sichuan universities. 19 10, the Kugu School, one of the predecessors of Sichuan University, opened disciplines such as Confucian classics, history and Zhang Ci, among which history has developed into a history department for more than a hundred years.

The college has a strong faculty, with 46 tutors for master students. Since the reform and opening up, the college has trained more than 1000 doctoral and master students and 1682 undergraduates for the country. The Tourism College of Sichuan University was formerly the Tourism Department of Sichuan University. This major started earlier among domestic counterparts. In the mid-1980s, the major of tourism culture and management was set up on the basis of the history department to recruit junior college students. Since 1992, the direction of tourism management and culture has been officially opened in the undergraduate major of history. 1996 with the approval of the state education commission, the undergraduate major of tourism management was formally added. 1997, the Ministry of Tourism was established. On July 12, 2000, the Tourism Department of Sichuan University was upgraded to the Tourism College of Sichuan University.

The college now has four departments and one research institute: Hotel Management Department, Tourism Enterprise Management Department, Tourism Planning and Scenic Area Management Department, Tourism Culture Department and Tourism Planning and Development Research Institute. At present, on average, more than 60 undergraduates and 40 postgraduates are enrolled each year. The college has comprehensive academic advantages of interdisciplinary infiltration, solid discipline theory and strong scientific research ability, and has considerable theoretical attainments and practical experience in the planning and development of tourism resources, especially humanistic tourism resources. He presided over and participated in more than ten local tourism development plans and tourism research projects. At present, the college has published more than 20 monographs and teaching materials and nearly 80 related academic papers, which has produced good social benefits. There are 18 teachers in the college, including 7 with senior titles, accounting for 38.8% of the total; There are 3 doctors, accounting for 16.7%, and 5 in-service doctors, and the proportion of doctors will reach 44.4% in the next two or three years; Young and middle-aged teachers account for 94% of all teachers. Among the teaching and research personnel in the whole school, the proportion of senior titles is about 48.28%, and the proportion of doctors is about 26.8%. In contrast, the proportion of "double high" in our school is not low. As young and middle-aged teachers account for the vast majority, it can be predicted that the number of "double high" students in our college will continue to climb in the next few years (this does not count the imported talents). In addition, some teachers have studied or further studied in the United States, Japan, Britain, France and other countries. In a word, the teachers in our college are characterized by high proportion of professional titles and academic qualifications, complete professional categories and reasonable age structure. Teachers' majors include tourism economy, business administration, tourism planning, professional foreign languages, museum science, architecture, religion, archaeology, history, ecology and so on. Such a team can be said to have strong teaching and research strength and great development potential. In the past three years, 37 graduate students and 144 undergraduate students have been trained for the country.

The awarding point of master's degree in tourism management is the earliest established master's degree in tourism in Sichuan Province, with comprehensive professional settings and certain disciplinary advantages, which occupies an important position in the tourism department of western universities. At present, our college has four postgraduate research directions: tourism resources planning and development, tourism enterprise management, hotel management and tourism culture.

Tourism College started late, but the starting point is high and there are many talents. In recent years, many academic achievements have been made, which have attracted the attention of peers. According to incomplete statistics, our institute has published more than 20 monographs, 85 papers and more than 30 research plans approved by relevant departments in recent years. At the same time, it won more than 20 awards, among which "the successful combination of teaching reform of tourism management specialty and regional tourism economy" won the first prize of excellent teaching achievements in colleges and universities in Sichuan Province.

The college has relatively complete teaching and research equipment, with more than 654.38+million books in Chinese and foreign languages and various publications 1 species, including computer room, reading room, reference room 1 species and multimedia classroom 1 species. The modern equipment for students' experiments is complete, which creates good conditions for professional study and research.
