Historical evolution of Qiandao Honghu Lake
Dahonghe was originally named Donghe, but it was renamed because the state built Dahonghe Hydropower Station in Changshou in 1958. Trapped rivers and livestock water, accumulated water flows backward for dozens of kilometers, flooding more than 25,000 mu of fertile land along the coast. Today's large-scale network lake with accumulated water is called Huda Lake. The lake area is criss-crossed with rivers and dotted with islands, so it has the reputation of "Thousand Islands Honghu Lake", and there are poems praising: a pearl touches the water, and the scenery of a thousand islands is better than painting.
