In the 19th year of Gou Jian, the King of Yue (478 BC), Gou Jian attacked Wu again and defeated Wu Jun's main force in the battle of Li Ze. In the 24th year of Gou Jian, the King of Yue (473 BC), the capital of Wu was breached, forcing Fu Cha to commit suicide, destroying the hegemony of Wu, crossing the Huai River with troops, gathering the princes of Qi, Song, Jin and Lu in Xuzhou (now south of Tengzhou, Shandong) and moving the capital to Langya, becoming the last overlord in the Spring and Autumn Period.
