In Songyuan City, Jilin Province, there is a Mongolian autonomous county called Qianguoerluosi, and its north is the plain on the south bank of Nenjiang River. Here, the northwest is the boundary of Da 'an City, and the south is ten kilometers away from the county seat. Archaeologists discovered a site of an ancient city in Liao Dynasty-Tahu City. "Tahu" means "chubby fish" in Mongolian, because chubby fish are produced around the city, so it is named. But in the Liao Dynasty, this was Changchun House, which was an important town in the north. The ancient city has four gates in the southeast and northwest, which are square and 52 13 meters long. Although the wall is adobe, it is very strong. It is said that Jin Wushu was stationed here, and Yang Balang also fought against the Liao army here.
Tahu City once had such a high strategic position in history, so when archaeologists discovered its remains, they were all very excited, because they found that the ancient city wall of Tahu City was full of remnants, but it was still six meters high and more than ten meters wide. Under these ancient city walls, a large number of porcelain fragments were found, which was a signal that porcelain cultural relics were hidden, so archaeologists continued to dig deeper. However, something very regrettable happened. Although some black and white chess pieces, copper coins, iron thistles, fish bones and animal bones were found in the ruins of Tacheng City, their research value is indeed limited, and none of them are worth in-depth analysis.
1975, due to the progress of the "industrial Daqing, agricultural Dazhai" action, it is necessary to level the land and develop agriculture. After careful and rigorous discussion, it was decided to level off the site of Tahu City, and only the architectural site in the northwest corner was reserved. As a result, a new round of excavation in Tahu City began again. Because some historical sites will be shoveled away later, the archaeological excavation is more thorough and detailed.
Many things happen. After hard excavation, archaeologists finally found a masonry tomb in the south corner of the site. The whole tomb was also square, and the inner wall even showed signs of painting, and it was decorated with murals, which greatly increased the confidence of archaeologists and they began to dig down more carefully. With the excavation of a few bronze mirrors, ceramics and rusty ironware, archaeologists can't help sighing. Although ancient cultural relics do exist, there are too few valuable ones, and the efforts and gains are disproportionate, which is really frustrating.
In fact, for Dadoucheng site, the most precious thing is not the ancient cultural relics, but the city itself. There are too many stories and rumors here. According to the records of Liao history, whenever the emperor wants to make a "spring" trip, he will leave Beijing for more than 60 days with his princes and princesses, and come to Tahu City to fish in the Dalugu River. When the first fish is caught, after that, the emperor will go hunting. When the eagle catches the first swan, everyone will hold a "goose feast" to celebrate. During the "Spring Bona", the Emperor will also receive envoys from North Korea, Song Dynasty and other countries in Great Lakes City. These things are recorded in Bitan and Liao history.
Out of all kinds of complicated wishes, Tahu City did not leave many precious cultural relics to future generations, but it still stands after 900 years of wind and frost. The city itself is a "cultural relic" worth studying, recording that period of history and witnessing the replacement and development of the times.
