Sichuan Museum was established in 194 1, located in Huanhuaxi historical and cultural scenic spot in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is the largest comprehensive museum in southwest China and occupies an important position among national public museums. In 2009, with the completion of the new museum, it was renamed by Sichuan Museum.
At present, Sichuan Museum has more than 260,000 cultural relics, including more than 50,000 precious cultural relics. Sichuan Museum has more than 30 full-time and part-time researchers, and has successively researched and published academic works such as Study on Tangka Collected in Sichuan Museum, Study on Buddhist Statues of Southern Dynasties Unearthed in Sichuan, and Collection of Calligraphy and Painting. 20 1 1 The project "Improving the Restoration Capacity of Sichuan Museum" was established by National Cultural Heritage Administration as one of the two national pilot projects, and 20 12 was rated as a national first-class museum.
