During czarist Russia, Ukraine was indeed a part of the Russian empire. During the Soviet period, it and Russia were both participating countries of the Soviet Union and had equal relations.

After the October Revolution, Russia collapsed. The newly-born Soviet regime took over Ukraine and became a member of the Soviet Union when it was founded in 1922. During this period, Ukraine has never gained independence and has always been a part of Soviet Russia. It was not until 199 1 that Ukraine became an independent country.

The word "Ukraine" first appeared in Historical Records Ross (1 187). 1237- 124 1 year, Badou Western Expedition conquered Kiev and established the Golden Account Khanate. From 65438 to 0654, Khmelnitski, the leader of Ukrainian Cossacks, signed the Treaty of Peleyaslav with the Russian Empire, and Ukraine and Russia formally merged. 1922, Ukraine joined the Soviet union (western Ukraine joined on 1939). 1990 On July 16, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted the Declaration on National Sovereignty of Ukraine. 199 1 declared independence on August 24th.
