"Sun Tzu's Nine Places" has a saying: "Love soldiers is the main speed." It can be said that as early as the pre-Qin period, the concept of "soldiers are expensive and fast" has penetrated into the hearts of every soldier and general. Speed is life and victory. Since speed is so important in marching and fighting, why is there more than one commander in a wheelchair on the battlefield in history?
Today, the only two people in the history who went to war in wheelchairs did not slow down their March. On the contrary, it is because of their existence that the soldiers with great morale go forward bravely, but the difference between them is that one is in a wheelchair and the other is intentional. Who are they? What are the reasons for "forced" and "intentional"? We continue to look down.
First of all, the one who needs a wheelchair, he was a strategist of Qi during the Warring States Period, one of Gui Guzi's disciples, and so was Sun Bin. Needless to say, Sun Bin's ingenuity, Kong Rong directly listed his intelligence as the highest in the past, but it was painful to mention that he was in a wheelchair.
Sun Bin is a descendant of Sun Wu, who wrote Sun Tzu's Art of War, so Sun Bin's military talent can be said to be born with genes. As a descendant of Sun Wu himself, and taking Guiguzi, the most famous hermit at that time, as his teacher, Sun Bin was a talented person for all the warring states.
Facts have proved that Sun Bin has lived up to his powerful genes and guiguzi's teachings. He is outstanding, especially good at attacking the enemy's weaknesses, grasping the initiative of the battlefield and making full use of the battlefield conditions to reverse the unfavorable situation. To put it bluntly, he is particularly good at fighting against the wind.
There are so many countries, but many counselors. Sun Bin's talent aroused the envy of his classmate Pang Juan. Although both of them are guiguzi, Pang Juan's ability is outstanding, but still not as good as Sun Bin's. Some people know their own shortcomings, and will try to consult people who are higher than themselves and strive to improve. Some people will only be jealous of others and think that killing others is the strongest. Pang Juan is the second kind.
Pang Juan first went down the mountain and became a general under Wei Huiwang. He pretended to invite Sun Bin to work for Wei, but in fact he tricked Sun Bin into placing him under house arrest. Now that you've been torn, Pang Juan is even more afraid that Sun Bin will come to power one day and retaliate against himself, simply flogging him as soon as he's finished.
What is whipping? To put it bluntly, it is to dig people's knees, hence the name Sun Bin (Sun Bin's real name is unknown, and he was renamed Sun Bin after being flogged). Pang Juan thinks it's time to rest easy. Sun Bin can't go to other countries after he is lame, and Wei Huiwang won't hire a physically disabled person.
However, Sun Bin did not give up. When he was sent to Wei State, he secretly contacted the envoys of Qi State and gained their trust. He was secretly sent back to Qi by car. As soon as Sun Bin arrived in Qi, he and Tian Ji discussed horse racing. He designed a plan to help Tian Ji win the horse race, which was appreciated by Tian Ji, so he introduced the plan to Qi Weiwang.
Although Sun Bin was lame, his talent made the King of Qi trust him and let him appear on the battlefield. Sun Bin lived up to this value. In the Battle of Guiling, Sun Bin once again used the eternal strategy of "encircling Wei to save Zhao" and captured Pang Juan alive in this battle.
At this time, their identities were completely reversed. If Sun Bin retaliated against Pang Juan, Pang Juan might not be so short of breath, but in Sun Bin's view, Pang Juan is a shameless villain, and he doesn't even bother to dispute with him. He completely ignored it and simply let Pang Juan go during the negotiation.
Sun Bin has since become a thorn in Pang Juan's heart. In 342 AD, in order to save the State of Qi in South Korea, the general of Wei was Pang Juan. Knowing that Pang Juan had a problem with himself, Sun Bin deliberately adopted the plan of "cutting stoves" to make soldiers reduce the cooking stoves day by day, and for a pretence, the Qi army was in flight, and many people fled every day.
Sun Bin's strategy of weakness made Pang Juan succeed in taking the bait. When Pang Juan was in high spirits and no longer cautious, he ambushed archers in a canyon and directly surrounded Pang Juan's army. Pang Juan left a sentence, "It became the name of an upright man!" He drew his sword and committed suicide. This is the famous Battle of Maling.
Sun Bin reluctantly went to the battlefield in a wheelchair, but he proved with his own strength that even if his legs were useless, he could command in a wheelchair and make up for the speed defect with his own strategy. The other man, whose leg is intact, has to be in a wheelchair every time he fights. He is Zhuge Liang, a famous official of Shu Han.
Zhuge Liang is no stranger to everyone. Even if you haven't read the History of the Three Kingdoms, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Killing the Three Kingdoms, you can't get around this person, whether it's Hang the Lantern High in Kongming or Ten Philosophers in Wu Temple.
Then the question comes, why does Zhuge Liang have to take a wheelchair every time he fights? Using online buzzwords to describe it is to maintain "power".
To tell the truth, people who know more about the history of the Three Kingdoms should find that Shu Han won only a handful of times on the frontal battlefield. Whether you fight alone or cooperate with other forces, you basically win by strategy, not by absolute force. In this case, the soldiers of Shu Han are actually "unsure", and other forces tend to underestimate Shu Han.
What should I do? Then set up a sign that Shu Han is very confident. Therefore, Zhuge Liang personally stepped out and was pushed to the front in a wheelchair every time, showing an indifferent attitude towards the enemy and showing what it means to "strategize and win a thousand miles."
Needless to say, Zhuge Liang's attitude is really a bluff. He timed the time in the air, relying on the calm momentum that Mount Tai collapsed without changing color. It happened that he took two boys to play the piano on the wall in front of hordes, which really fooled Sima Yi.
To put it bluntly, Zhuge Liang's behavior is "creating momentum". Through some of his own actions, he created an atmosphere of "I am strong", which not only deceived the enemy, but also deceived the soldiers and greatly improved morale.
However, Zhuge Liang is capable, but the real battle still depends on hard power. This bluff won't fool you for a while. Zhuge Liang failed in the next five northern expeditions. Although Sima Yi's pursuit was finally stopped, it was also dragged down by the war, making Shu Han the first of the three countries to be destroyed.
What is Sun Tzu's Art of War? It is a summary of the wisdom of marching and fighting, a summary of those clever schemes, but in the final analysis, the art of war should proceed from reality, which is undoubtedly a flower in the mirror.
