Both are historical stories. The reign of Ximen Bao is a historical story. More than two thousand years ago, when Ximen Bao was in charge of Ye (now north of Anyang, Henan Province and west of Linzhang County, Hebei Province), he learned through investigation that the officials and witches there colluded with the people, so he designed to get rid of superstition and vigorously build water conservancy projects to make Ye land prosperous again. Reading for the Rise of China tells the story that young Zhou Enlai heard with his own eyes that China people were bullied by foreigners in the concession, but he has nowhere to argue. Everyone around him dared to speak out, from which he deeply realized the meaning of "China's depression" and decided to "study for the rise of China".
