The development of history
Xiuwu County has a long history and is a famous county in ancient China. Before the Zhou Dynasty, this place was called Yining. At the end of Shang Dynasty (BC 1046), Zhou Wuwang mobilized troops to cut it down. When the army passed through Yining, it was caught in a three-day rainstorm and was stationed on the spot to practice martial arts, so it was changed to "martial arts". Since then, Wushu has been named, and it has a history of more than 3,000 years.
In 22 1 year BC, after Qin Shihuang unified China, the county system was implemented and Xiuwu County was established, which belonged to Sanchuan County. It has been 2227 years since the county was founded. For more than 3,000 years, the name of "Xiuwu" has been passed down from generation to generation, becoming one of the oldest county names in China. Xiuwu County was awarded the title of "Millennium Ancient County" by the China Branch of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names, and was officially listed in the list of geographical names heritage protection in China, becoming the only one in the province.
