Is there any discrepancy between the final ending of Yan Song in Under the Golden Clothes and the real ending of history?
There's no big difference. It's basically the same. In the forty-fourth year of Jiajing (1565), Yan Shifan was sentenced to beheading, crying before execution, and Yan Song was confiscated, cut off his official position, and returned to his hometown, homeless. In the 45th year of Jiajing (1566), Yan Song was poor and ill on April 21st, at the age of 87. When he died, he was fed in the grave, with no coffin to bury him and no one to mourn.

I. Introduction to Yan Song

Yan Song (1480 March 3rd? 65438+May10,566), the word Zhong Wei, the number Mianan, Jiexi, Fenyi, etc. Born in Fenyi, Yuanzhou Prefecture, Jiangxi Province (now Fenyi, Jiangxi Province), his ancestral home is Shaowu, Fujian Province. He was a politician and a powerful minister in the Ming Dynasty.

In the eighteenth year of Hongzhi (1505), Emperor Xiaozong of Ming Dynasty was a scholar, and the Ministry of Rites moved to Shangshu, with a bachelor's degree in Hanlin Academy. In the twenty-first year of Jiajing (1542), he joined the cabinet at the age of 63. He added Shao Fu, also a surname of Prince, and a university student in the main hall. Later, he was changed to a college student in Shao Shi and Huagaidian. In the twenty-seventh year of Jiajing (1548), he slandered Xia Yan, and later served as the cabinet record, specializing in national politics for nearly fifteen years.

Second, Yan Song's merits and demerits

More than half of the reason why Yan Song was so undervalued by later generations was to take the blame for Emperor Jiajing at that time. Yan Song was in power in the middle and late Jiajing period, and Emperor Jiajing was not as wise and diligent as he was at the beginning of his succession. At that time, Jiajing was obsessed with monasticism all the year round and his likes and dislikes were impermanent. Fu Wei was very self-controlled, playing with the ministers with the emperor's mind, and the ministers were very scared. He accompanied the monarch, every day in the depths of life, dare not steal power.

Yan Song was just a target set by Emperor Jiajing among ministers to attract their firepower and let the emperor hide behind the scenes to control the overall situation. Therefore, a large part of the bad things that Yan Song and his followers did, such as framing Zhongliang, were acquiesced by Emperor Jiajing. As for Yan Song mentioned in the Ming Dynasty, he only knew how to please and didn't dare to remonstrate. In fact, Yan Song did not dare to remonstrate, nor did other ministers. Emperor Jiajing was famous for being harsh on officials. With Jiajing's temper, who dares to disobey him, let alone Yan Song, is silent along with the so-called loyal ministers such as Xu Jie and Gao Gong.

Yan Song did a lot of things during his administration. He has a unique vision and is in control of the whole situation. In the face of the national financial collapse and the war between the North and the South, he struggled to support this crisis. In the north, trade, mutual market exchange, differentiation and other measures were taken to temporarily appease the Tatars and ensure the calm of the Nine Borders.

In the south, in order to pacify the enemy, we strongly supported the policies of Hu Zongxian, the governor of the southeast, and supported Hu Zongxian in compiling and training new troops. It is with the support of Yan Song that Hu Zongxian can boldly carry out its own strategy of pacifying the enemy and lay the foundation for finally pacifying the enemy.

Of course, Yan Song is by no means a good person. He colluded with others and suppressed his political opponents, especially his son Yan Shifan, who was lustful, amassed money and was arrogant. During his 20 years in Yan Song, he made a fortune by selling officials and titles. In the end, Yan Song also fell on his son.
