What canals were there in the ancient history of China?
During the Spring and Autumn Period, the Han Canal built by Fu Cha of the State of Wu was the earliest canal. The Lingqu built in Qin Dynasty was also an artificial canal. The Grand Canal in Sui Dynasty, with Luoyang as the center, reaches Zhuo Jun (Beijing) in the north and Yuhang (Hangzhou) in the south, including Yongji Canal, Tongji Canal, Hangou River and Jiangnan River. It used to be called the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, but now it's not called the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, but it's mainly Luoyang. In the Yuan Dynasty, Huitong River and Tonghui River were built on the basis of the Sui Canal. Beijing and Hangzhou are directly connected, which is the real Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
