Historical background of Yuanmingyuan Introduction to the historical background of Yuanmingyuan
1. Yuanmingyuan is a royal garden in the Qing Dynasty, which was built in the forty-eighth year of Kangxi, namely 1709. Yuanmingyuan is the garden that Kangxi gave to Yin Zhen, the fourth emperor. Since then, it has been continuously renovated and expanded, and it has been preserved for more than 1.5 years. In the tenth year of Xianfeng, after the British and French allied forces invaded Beijing, Yuanmingyuan was destroyed by burning, killing and looting, and was finally buried in the sea of fire and became a ruin.

2. Yuanmingyuan embodies the essence of ancient garden art in China, which is a symbol of culture and a rare treasure. It is well-known and has the reputation of "Garden of Ten Thousand Gardens".

The disaster in Yuanmingyuan can be said to be a microcosm of the experience of the Chinese nation at that time. Although the Tongzhi emperor was ready to resume later, he was forced to stop because of financial difficulties, and even now the restoration could not reach the level at that time.
