What earthquake-prone areas are there in China?
China earthquake-prone areas include Xinjiang, Sichuan, Taiwan Province, Tibet, Yunnan, Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Jilin and Hebei.

China is a country with severe earthquake disasters because of its high frequency, high intensity, shallow focal point and wide distribution. Since 1900, the number of earthquake deaths in China has reached 550,000, accounting for 53% of the global earthquake deaths. In the 20th century, there were three strong earthquakes of magnitude 8.5 or above in the world, two of which occurred in China.

Earthquakes in recent years

In 20 14, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred in Zhuolu County.

In 20 15, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred in Changli county.

In 20 16, an earthquake of magnitude 4.0 occurred in Kaiping District and Tangshan, shangyi county.

In 20 18, an earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred in Yongqing county.

The earthquake risk index is affected by three indicators: the intensity factors that cause disasters (such as the equivalent magnitude of urban near-source earthquakes), the vulnerability index of disaster-bearing bodies (population, GDP, seismic capacity of buildings), and the coping capacity (emergency capacity such as evacuation and rescue).
