Yi, formerly known as Yi, belonged to the State of Chen in the Spring and Autumn Period. In the autumn of 637 BC, Chu conquered Chen, and barbarians turned to Chu. In 530 BC, King Chu Ling was stationed in the city and built Zhanghuatai. In 528 BC, King Chu Ping became the father of the city, built the city and sent a prince to live in it. Chengfu Ancient City is the birthplace of Sean in the early Han Dynasty, and also the place where Wu Zixu guarded the border.
The ancient city, the father of the city, is a rammed earth city with a square plane. The highest surviving point of the city wall is about 1.8 meters, and the width of the city wall is about 30 meters, with sloping sides. The southeast corner of the city is well preserved, and the north and west walls have been razed to the ground. Cheng Nan wall is like a ridge across the plain. The circumference of the city is about 8 kilometers, and there are four original doors, only the traces of the East Gate are faintly visible. In the early days of the People's Republic of China, local farmers found Chu gold coins in the city.
There are a large number of cultural relics and historic sites around the city father, such as Zhanghuatai, Daitai, Wanghuatai, Miaotaizi, Wuyuan Zhuanggu, Sinv solitary pile, Ernv solitary pile, post-Tie Ying site and Qingfengling site. It seems that people have heard the distant historical echo and aroused their love for ancient civilization.
