With the collapse of the feudal dynasty, Nanjing Yunjin, as a royal tribute, gradually declined.
After the founding of New China, the Party and the government attached great importance to Nanjing Yunjin, a precious national science and technology culture. From 65438 to 0956, Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou successively instructed to inherit and carry forward the brocade craft. From 65438 to 0957, with the approval of Jiangsu provincial government, Nanjing Yunjin Academy was established, which is the first research institute of arts and crafts in new China. As the only professional research institution of Yunjin in China, it undertakes the historical responsibility of inheriting and protecting Yunjin.
Nanjing Yunjin Research Institute has successively compiled and published large-scale color pattern collection Nanjing Yunjin and black-and-white pattern collection Nanjing Yunjin, restored the lost varieties of "double-sided brocade" and "concave-convex brocade", and developed the decorative brocade "Yuhua Brocade" for Jiangsu Hall of the Great Hall of the People. At the same time, we collected and purchased a considerable number of brocade fabrics, samples and physical materials, which laid a good foundation for the research and development of brocade.
The predecessor of Nanjing Yunjin Research Institute is Yunjin Research Working Group, which was established in 1954. Professor Chen Zhifo, a famous arts and crafts expert in China, is the head of the research working group. This is one of the earliest arts and crafts research institutions in the early days of the founding of New China. 1956 10 Premier Zhou Enlai personally instructed: "Comrade Ning must inherit and carry forward the Yunjin craft." 65438-0957 Nanjing Yunjin Research Institute was established with the approval of Jiangsu provincial government. This is also the first research institute of arts and crafts in New China led by Nanjing Handicraft Industry Bureau (predecessor of Second Light Industry Bureau) and guided by Nanjing Cultural Bureau. Since then, Nanjing Yunjin Research Institute, as the only professional research institution of Yunjin in China, has assumed the historical responsibility of inheritance and protection of Yunjin.
1973, the institute expanded a young team of nearly 100 people and established an experimental factory. In order to rescue and develop the folk brocade of all ethnic groups in China, 1982, the Ministry of Light Industry decided to set up the "China Brocade Technology Research and Production Experimental Center" on the basis of Brocade Research Institute, set up the Brocade Professional Committee under the leadership of China Arts and Crafts Society, and set up the "China Brocade Technology Exhibition Hall" in the Institute, making the Institute a national brocade industry center. With the leadership and support of National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Institute became the experimental base for the reproduction of ancient silk cultural relics of the Cultural Relics Bureau on 1986. 1994 cooperated with the Municipal Tourism Bureau to build the "China Brocade Village", which completely protected the brocade crafts of all ethnic groups in China and presented them to the world in the form of objects and scenes.
On July 2, 2004, the Nanjing Cultural Bureau (Cultural Relics Bureau) officially approved the establishment of Nanjing Yunjin Museum with the document "Wen Ning Zi (2004)No. 1 13". In the same year, Nanjing Yunjin Museum was included in the list of "New 55 Scenes of Nanjing" and "New 48 Scenes of Jinling" jointly launched by Nanjing Bureau of Landscape Architecture and Nanjing Daily and initiated by Jinling Evening News.
