Which provinces in China are the epidemic areas of rabies?
(China rabies risk grade map) Virology of Tang Qing, China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, etc. This April.

The magazine (virologica sinica) published an article entitled "Analysis of Related Factors of Rabies Epidemic in China in 2007-201/KLOC-0".

Newspapers. According to the data collected by the national epidemic reporting system, the rabies epidemic situation in China in 2007-20 1 1 was analyzed.

One of the conclusions of this paper is that the epidemic area of rabies in China is expanding.

Although the total number of rabies deaths in China has been slowly decreasing in the past five years, from the peak of 3,300 in 2007 to 1 and 9 1 in 2065, at the same time, the area where rabies occurs has obviously expanded, and more people in China are threatened by rabies. What is more important is to realize the task of eliminating rabies in China in 2020.

Rabies risk grade map of China

China is not an epidemic area of rabies in China. At present, the number of deaths caused by rabies in China is about 2000 every year, most of which occur in about 2/5 of the country's southeast. The following is a rabies risk grade map of China based on relevant statistical data.

Areas without epidemic in history:

From 2 1 2 years at the beginning of the century, the number of rabies cases in Tibet and Qinghai provinces has remained zero, which can be considered as non-epidemic areas.

Areas with basically no epidemic in history:

From 2000 to 2006, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang, Heilongjiang, Ningxia, Hebei and other provinces and regions 10 basically had no case reports, only occasional rabies cases.

In the history of China, the total area of provinces and regions with no epidemic or basically no epidemic accounts for about 3/5 of the land area of China.

Except for the above areas, other areas in China are basically rabies epidemic areas.

Five provinces with the largest number of rabies deaths in recent five years:

Guangxi (1778), Guangdong (1485), Guizhou (1427), Hunan (1075) and Sichuan (803). Among the 3 1 provincial administrative regions in China, the total number of cases in these five provinces accounts for 55% of the total number of reported cases in China. In the past five years, these provinces are still high-incidence provinces while the number of cases has decreased significantly, which affects the epidemic situation in neighboring provinces and may even affect the whole country.

The situation of four municipalities directly under the central government:

In the past five years, the number of deaths in Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin has been less than five per year, and only Chongqing has an average of more than 100 per year.

Provinces where rabies is still increasing against the trend in recent five years:

Yunnan, Jiangsu, Shanxi and Shaanxi.

Three provinces that have changed from non-epidemic areas to epidemic areas in recent five years: Hebei, Shanxi and Shaanxi.

Hebei Province: Before 2005, the annual reported death toll in this province was single digits, reaching double digits from 2005, jumping to 150 in 2007, and maintaining a high level above 100 every year for the past five years.

Shanxi Province with the fastest development momentum: From 2000 to 2006, 9 cases were reported in the whole province (average 1-2 cases per year), which increased year by year from 2007 until it reached 88 cases at 20 1 1 year, and the distribution range was almost all over Shanxi Province.

The most worrying Shaanxi province:

Shaanxi province used to be a province with low incidence of rabies. From 2000 to 2006, a total of 15 cases were reported (2-3 cases per year on average). In 2009, the number of cases suddenly increased to 26, of which 25 cases were concentrated in Hanzhong City. A similar epidemic occurred in Weinan City, with 5 cases in 20 10 and 29 cases in 20 1 1. Rabies usually manifests as sporadic cases, but the above cases show that it is very likely that a concentrated outbreak of rabies will occur in the low-incidence area adjacent to the high-incidence area (which belongs to the "frontier position" of rabies prevention and control) without taking active rabies prevention and control strategies.

Provinces reporting imported or first cases in recent years:

In 2009, Gansu, Shaanxi.

20 1 1 year, Xinjiang, Ningxia and Liaoning.

20 12, Heilongjiang.

The epidemic area of rabies in China is expanding. The situation of rabies prevention and control in China is more severe.

In the National Medium-and Long-Term Animal Disease Prevention and Control Plan (20 12-2020) recently published by the State Council, the goal of rabies control in China in 2020 was set. In this plan, 12 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) are listed as key epidemic areas for rabies prevention and control: Hebei, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Shandong, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan.
