Duke of Lushan is a chivalrous novel written by Hong Kong writer Jin Yong. The hero of this novel is different from other heroes in his novels. Wei Xiaobao, the hero, is different from the traditional chivalrous man. In fact, he is just a low-level nobody, but with his own wisdom, he made friends with Kangxi and married seven wives.
First of all, Mr. Jin Yong said that Wei Xiaobao was mainly influenced by a China man named Weibao Mountain. He not only worked for the Qing court, but also joined the anti-Qing organization. He speculated in many ways, but he was not wrong. Inspired by this man, Mr. Jin Yong used his imagination to create the masterpiece of Duke Lushan. It is said that this Mr. Wei tipped off the news and destroyed the Guangzhou uprising of the Hui people.
Second, through the era in which Wei Xiaobao lived, it is speculated that his name was Ronkedo, which made great contributions to the capture of Ao Bai, a powerful person in the government and the public. But he didn't have the good luck of Wei Xiaobao, and he didn't get reused after making great contributions. Instead, he was hit and excluded, and Kangxi ignored him. It was not until his later years that Kangxi was taken seriously and assisted Yongzheng.
Thirdly, as Mr. Jin Yong said, the prototype character is Ah Q. After Lu Xun's The True Story of Ah Q, the images of Wei Xiaobao and Ah Q are interlinked, which has been discussed in academic circles. Later, Jin Yong also talked about the relationship between Wei Xiaobao and the image of Ah Q many times. He said: When writing this book, I often think of Lu Xun's True Story of Ah Q, which emphasizes the spiritual victory method of China people.
Duke Lushan had a wonderful ending. It is not clear which ethnic group Wei Xiaobao belongs to, including Han, Manchu, Mongolian, Hui and Tibetan. This means that Wei Xiaobao is a descendant of the Chinese nation and a representative of the people of China, which should also be the embodiment of Mr. Jin Yong's unified thought.
