1920- Born.

1931-Twelve years old, he entered the fourth primary school in Henan Province to study in the second grade, and the "September 18th Incident" happened soon after he entered school.

1933—— My father sent me to Huixian primary school for beating my stepmother and grandfather, and I met my teacher Ke Fei, which aroused his interest in reading.

1937—— Apply for training courses for military and political cadres in Henan Province.

1939—— Married to Ai Shaohe, and my father died in Kaifeng in the same year.

1943- fell in love with Choi Soo Young and lived with * * *.

1948—— Founded Dadong Daily in Shenyang with friends Xu Tianxiang and Sun.

1949—— Break with Ke Fei, meet the thinker Wu Wenyi in Shanghai, and follow him to Taiwan Province Province; In the same year, he entered Pingtung Agricultural Vocational School as a personnel officer.

1953-married Qi Yongpei, and her first essay was published in Free Talk.

1954- Working in the Salvation Army. The contradiction with Wu Wenyi has intensified.

1957—— I worked as a teacher in the National national cheng kung university. Later, I fell in love with Ni Minghua, a student at Jingyi English College, and married her, so I was forced to quit all my jobs.

1960- Started writing the column "Sleeping in a Dream" in Gigi Lai Evening News under the pseudonym "Baiyang".

196 1- began to publish the novel "Foreign Land" in the Independent Evening News.

1967—— responsible for translating Popeye, an American cartoon serialized by China Journal.

1968—— He was imprisoned by the Bureau of Investigation for translating "fellow villagers" into "compatriots of the whole country" in an article published on February/kloc-0, and was charged with "spying for communist party" and "attacking the national leadership center".

1969—— Ni Minghua filed for divorce, and Poplar fasted in prison for 2 1 day.

1972- 1976- held in green island feeling prison.

1977—— Received the letter of appointment from Chinese mainland Research Center to open "Poplar Column" in China Times.

1978-Marry the poetess Zhang Xianghua.

1979—— The Outline of China People's History on Prison Work was published.

1982—— Visiting the Golden Triangle in northern Thailand with his wife Zhang Xianghua.

1985 —— In August, Ugly China was published; Baiyang Edition as a Mirror was selected as the most valuable and best-selling book in Taiwan Province Province, while General History of China was listed as one of the ten books with the greatest social influence.

1988—— Visiting my daughter Mao Mao in Xi 'an.

1993-Poplar Mirror Edition has been completed, with 72 paperbacks and 36 hardcovers.

1995- Bai Yang's memoirs completed.

On February 24th, 2008, he was admitted to intensive care unit due to pneumonia and respiratory failure, and was transferred to general ward on March 19. Later, he was admitted to the intensive care unit again because of stomach problems, and was transferred to the general ward for oxygen inhalation and assisted breathing on April 12.

On April 29th, 2008, he died at Geng Xin Hospital in Xindian, Taiwan Province Province, at the age of 88.
