Judging from the collection of historical materials, both Zuo Zhuan and Shi Ji reached the peak of their respective times. Zuo Zhuan has played an irreplaceable role in promoting Confucian culture, and historical records are not as good as Zuo Zhuan. However, Historical Records is the first general history of China, and its scale far exceeds that of Zuo Zhuan, which is highly praised by historians of all dynasties. Therefore, from a purely historical point of view, Zuo Zhuan is not as good as Historical Records.
