The San Francisco Rebellion was an anti-Qing event initiated by three vassal kings in the early Qing Dynasty. San Francisco refers to Wu Sangui, Shang Kexi and Geng Zhongjing, the king of the day.

In order to deal with the resistance of Li Zicheng peasant army and Nanming government, the Qing court took Wu Sangui in Yunnan, Shangkexi in Guangdong and Geng in Fujian as prisoners. 1in the spring of 673 (the twelfth year of Kangxi), Emperor Kangxi made a decision to withdraw from the vassal state. Wu Sangui first killed Zhu Guozhi, the governor of Yunnan, in June this year 1 1, claiming that all the people in the world were recruiting marshals, and put forward the idea of "prospering Ming as Lu", pointing the finger at the court. Wu Sangui's army entered Hunan from Yunnan and Guizhou, occupying almost the whole Hunan province. Then they occupied Sichuan and Sichuan officials surrendered. In Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Shaanxi, Hubei, Henan and Zhengming, Taiwan Province, there were Han officials, Han soldiers and elites of ethnic minorities, and farmers and slaves in some areas responded quickly.

Since then, Wu Sangui has built fortifications along the Yangtze River in Hunan, instead of going north. Emperor Kangxi seized the opportunity, adjusted his strategy and arranged his troops. He resolutely attacked Wu Sangui at first, but appealed to other rebels to isolate Wu Sangui by dividing his troops. Militarily, Hunan was the key target of attack, and at the same time, the Han generals could be fully trusted, which encouraged the morale of the imperial army.

After Geng and Shang Zhixin surrendered to the Qing court, Wu Sangui proclaimed himself emperor in Hengzhou in 1678 (the seventeenth year of Kangxi), founded the country as the Zhou Dynasty, and established the Yuan Dynasty as a symbol of Wuwei and made a general. In fact, this time, Wu Sangui has reached the end of the road. After he died of depression, he passed on the so-called "kindness" to his grandson Wu Shifan. 168 1 In the winter of (the twentieth year of Kangxi), the Qing army entered Kunming, the capital of Yunnan, and Wu Shifan committed suicide, and the eight-year San Francisco Rebellion was put down. For the Qing court, this was a sign of establishing a stable imperial rule.
