The first stage: the initial development period of socialist industry.
The new China team carried out socialist transformation in different degrees to the former foreign-funded enterprises, enterprises run by the national government, private enterprises and handicrafts, and with the assistance of Soviet experts, built a number of large-scale heavy industrial enterprises, initially forming a relatively complete modern industrial base. During the Great Leap Forward, the policy of "taking steel as the key link" caused serious social and economic consequences, but on the other hand, it also left a special industrial landscape belonging to that era.
The second stage: the tortuous progress period of socialist industry.
During the Cultural Revolution, modern socialist industry developed in twists and turns in turmoil. The "three-line construction" movement, which is considering building a new heavy industry base in the hinterland of southwest China, has greatly promoted the development of southwest China and formed a number of emerging industrial cities.
The third stage is the period of great development of socialist industry.
China's industry has developed steadily and continuously, and the industrial ownership structure has undergone great changes. With the rise of individual and private industries, township enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises, the proportion of state-owned industries has declined, forming a diversified industrial economic structure. With the deepening of industrialization, the traditional manufacturing industry has lost its vitality to a certain extent, and the industrial transformation of the old industrial base involves the reuse of a large number of industrial land. The revitalization of the old industrial base in Northeast China and the relocation of Shougang have become hot issues of general concern in academia and society.
