From the perspective of historical materialism, history is inevitable, not accidental?
No matter whether history is inevitable or accidental, we must find out what determines the history of this world.

As far as Azeroth's world is concerned, it is difficult to determine what determines the history of this world. Of course, you have to say from God's point of view that BLZ determines the plot, so the history of this world is inevitable. Then I can also say from God's point of view that BLZ's screenwriter decided a new plot by accident, so the history of this world is accidental.

As far as the plot inside the game is concerned, just like the history of mind I mentioned earlier, if there is no external interference, the local forces of Azeroth will continue to evolve. Because of its inherent laws, the general historical trend will be inevitable. However, under the interference of powerful external forces, the laws affecting historical trends are no longer simple internal laws, and once variables are generated, contingency will greatly increase.

Moreover, in hindsight, the historical development of the past is inevitable. That's just nonsense afterwards. This is inevitable. How could it not have been predicted at first? If history is inevitable, it will inevitably lead to things like the history of the mind to plan the general direction of the whole future. Now we stand here and talk about historical inevitability, that is to say, the earth has not been invaded by aliens, so human history only follows certain historical laws. If the earth has been invaded by aliens like Azeroth, why not look for the inevitability of history for me?

So finally, the first question is: What determines the history of this world?

This problem is very complicated in Azeroth, because the history of this world actually needs to be maintained. What do you mean this needs maintenance? To what extent can history be artificially changed? There is basically no answer now.

For example, a certain law/will/power/god determines the inevitable historical trend of Azeroth, but something else interferes with the decision of law/will/power/god, trying to influence the inevitability of Azeroth's historical trend. Will this matter succeed? Is it accidental or inevitable that this thing interferes with efforts?

As long as there is external intervention, the so-called historical inevitability is not inevitable at all.
