The Development History of All-China Women's Federation
After the establishment of the China * * Production Party, the Central Committee established the Women's Department on 1922 to strengthen the Party's leadership over the women's movement and better guide its development. Xiang Jingyu was appointed as the first minister of the Central Women's Department. During the first revolutionary civil war, the Women's Liberation Association was established. During the Second Revolutionary Civil War, a meeting of representatives of women workers and farmers was established in the revolutionary base areas. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, the Women's Salvation Association was established in the anti-Japanese base areas; During the People's Liberation War, women's federations were established in the liberated areas. Women's organizations have also been established in Kuomintang-ruled areas or Japanese aggressor-occupied areas. These women's mass organizations and groups played a certain role in the revolutionary struggle at that time, showing the strength of women's organizations and laying the foundation for promoting the development of the national women's liberation movement.

1In July, 945, representatives of women's federations in the Liberated Areas gathered in Yan 'an to set up a preparatory committee for women's federations in the Liberated Areas. However, due to the changes in the war situation, the women's Federation in the liberated areas could not be formally established. According to the decision of the Central Committee meeting in September 1948, from March 24th to April 3rd, 1949, the first national congress of China women was held in Beiping (now Beijing), and the All-China Democratic Women's Federation, a unified women's organization in China, was established. The purpose of the congress is to unite women from all walks of life and ethnic groups in China, work with the people of the whole country to thoroughly oppose imperialism, eliminate feudalism and bureaucratic capitalism, build a unified people's democracy and country, strive to abolish all feudal traditional customs that are not conducive to women, protect women's rights and interests and children's welfare, and actively organize women to participate in various construction undertakings, so as to achieve gender equality and women's liberation. The second national women's congress was held in April, 1953. It is determined that the central task of the women's movement is to continue to educate, mobilize and organize women, participate in and do a good job in industrial and agricultural production and the construction of the motherland, and give full play to its due role. 1957 The Third National Women's Congress was held in September, and it was decided to change its name to People's Republic of China (PRC) Women's Federation, stipulating that the fundamental principles of the Women's Federation are: building the country diligently, managing the family diligently, and striving for building socialism.

1966 years later, due to the "cultural revolution", the women's movement was seriously damaged and women's work stopped 1 1 year. 1978 The Fourth National Women's Congress was held in September, which fully restored the work of the Women's Federation. At the meeting, the slogan "the four modernizations need women, and women need the four modernizations" was put forward, and it was decided to change the name to the current name. 1983 The tasks of the Women's Federation formulated by the Fifth National Women's Congress in September are to unite women of all ethnic groups and all walks of life throughout the country, implement the provisions of the Constitution and laws, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, nurture, train and educate children to grow up rapidly, give full play to women's important role in the construction of material civilization and spiritual civilization, and strive to become an authoritative mass organization representing the interests, protecting and educating women and children.

Since 1995, the All-China Women's Federation has been designated as a non-governmental organization. In China's political system, women's federations, trade unions and the Communist Youth League at all levels belong to mass organizations and accept the leadership of party committees at all levels. The Party Committee has a "Deputy Secretary between the Party and the masses" (now called a full-time deputy secretary), who is the direct superior leader of these three mass organizations. The power of appointment and removal of women's federations at all levels lies in the standing committees of party committees at all levels. The women's Federation at the next higher level only has business guidance relationship with the women's Federation at the next lower level, and has no direct leadership power. The Women's Federation has its own party group as the actual leading decision-making body.
