Territorial answer: commonly known as "black rice" is head smut parasitic by smut bacteria. When sorghum seeds germinate in spring, the remaining head smut spores in soil, manure and seeds also germinate and invade the bud sheath before the sorghum buds are unearthed. After a period of growth, many hyphae are formed near the growing point of crops, and the hyphae rise with the growth of crops. When young ears are formed, bacteria occupy and destroy them.
