Clear privacy on IE

After surfing the Internet with IE, many privacy records are often left, such as COOKIE, visited web pages, temporary files and so on. In order to ensure the security and privacy of IE, we need to clean it up accordingly.

1. Clear COOKIES

COOKIE save all kinds of information left by users when surfing the Internet, such as user name, e-mail address, etc. To clear COOKIES, you can first open the INTERNET Options window. Then, on the General tab, click the Delete Cookies button in the Temporary INTERNET Files area, and then click OK to clear all cookies.

2. Clear temporary INTERNET files

INTERNET temporary files are webpages, images and other files saved when browsing webpages. These temporary files can be accessed quickly from the hard disk to improve the speed of page browsing. To clear these files, just open the INTERNET Options window and click the Delete Files button in the Temporary INTERNET Files area of the General tab. Click OK again to clear the temporary INTERNET files.

Tip: If you don't want to keep temporary INTERNET files, you can also open the INTERNET options window and select the "Empty temporary INTERNET folder when closing the browser" check box in the Advanced tab, which will empty the temporary INTERNET folder when closing IE.

Clear history

Links to visited web pages are kept in IE's history folder. To clear them, you can also open the INTERNET Options window, click the Clear History button in the history area of the General tab, and then confirm to clear all records in IE's history folder and the URL in IE's address bar.

4. Clean up the form and password information

When browsing the web with IE, we usually turn on the "auto-completion" function, so that when you log in to a web page for the first time, your user name and password will be saved. Although the function of "automatic completion" is convenient for everyone, it also brings security risks. To ensure safety, students can turn on the Internet option and clean up these contents regularly. In the INTERNET Options window, select the Content tab; Then, click the autocomplete button in the personal information area, and click the Clear Form and Clear Password buttons in the window that opens to clear it.
