In my days as a palace official, even clerks had to wear special "waist tags" when entering the lotus pond, and they could only enter after being verified by the doorman, which was the same as the requirements for entering the palace. This garden is unique and belongs exclusively to the royal family. Later, Cao Rui, the younger brother of Zhili Governor Cao Kun, changed the lotus pond to "ancient lotus pond".
