Ding surname is a surname with a long history. As early as the last years of Shang Dynasty, when Zhou Wuwang attacked Zhou, the warlord Ding Hou of Yin Dynasty was destroyed by Zhou because he didn't want to follow, and his descendants were scattered all over the country, taking Ding as his surname, which was the earliest branch of Ding Shi. From the fact that the ruling center of Shang Dynasty was in the middle of Henan, we can infer that this branch of Shi Ding originated in Henan.
