The Historical Development of China No.1 Metallurgical Construction Co., Ltd.
Since its establishment, China No.1 Metallurgical Company has been undertaking the construction task of key projects of the national iron and steel industry. In 1950s, the first phase of WISCO project, from mining, coking to smelting and rolling, including a set of public facilities, was completed. In the 1960s, Maanshan Wheel and Tire Factory, known as "a flower in the south of the Yangtze River", was built. In 1970s, he undertook the expansion task of WISCO's "Double 400" project, successively built No.4 blast furnace, cold rolling plant and No.2 steelmaking plant in WISCO, and participated in the battle of WISCO1.7m rolling mill project. In 1980s, the International Trade Building, the tallest building in Shenzhen, was completed, setting a proud "Shenzhen Speed" in the architectural history of China. In the 1990s, a number of national key metallurgical projects were built, such as WISCO New No.3 Blast Furnace, WISCO High-speed Wire Rod Factory, WISCO No.3 Steelmaking Plant, WISCO Silicon Steel Expansion Project, Tianjin Seamless Steel Pipe Factory, and Handan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. After entering the new century, two sets of rolling mills of Tianjin steel pipe and steelmaking project of Jigang have been built. For more than 50 years, it has made great contributions to China iron and steel industry.
