1, Gugawu

2. Zhong Lichun in the Warring States Period.

However, she was concerned about state affairs and once went to see Qi Xuanwang personally and accused him of extravagance and corruption. Xuan Wang was very moved and made her queen. Yuan people also compiled her deeds into zaju, praising her spirit of taking the world as her responsibility.

Although Zhong Lichun looks charming, she is ambitious.

Qi Xuanwang, who was in power at that time, was politically corrupt, politically fatuous and grumpy. He likes to listen to flattery. Anyone who speaks ill of him will have disaster.

But in order to save the people, Zhong Lichun risked being beheaded and rushed to the capital. When Qi Xuanwang met Zhong Lichun, he thought it was a monster. When Zhong Lichun stated Qi Xuanwang's misdeeds one by one, he pointed out that if he didn't pull back from the brink, the city would be destroyed and the country would perish.

Qi Xuanwang was deeply moved and regarded Zhong Lichun as his mirror. The king, surrounded by beautiful women like clouds, made Zhong Lichun his queen.

3. Meng Guang in the Eastern Han Dynasty

The idiom "Take Qi Mei as an example" tells the story of Meng Guang, the wife of Hongliang, a wise man in the Eastern Han Dynasty.

Therefore, Meng Guang's words to the matchmaker were handed down as jokes by Chinese people for some time.

But Hongliang took a fancy to Meng Guang's character and decided to marry Meng Guang.

Later, when he went to Wu as a helper, Meng Guang accompanied him without complaint. Every time Hongliang comes home from work, Meng Guang raises the tableware to his eyebrows and respectfully hands it to Hongliang. They love each other and grow old together.

Later generations called "Qi Mei" from Meng Guang.

4. Ruan women in the Eastern Jin Dynasty

Legend has it that when Xu Yun saw Ruan on her wedding night, she was so scared that she ran away.

Ruan grabbed Xu Yunfeng, who struggled: "Women have four virtues. How many do you have? " Ruan replied, "I just don't have a beautiful appearance. How many lines do you have that a reader should have? " Xu Yun said, "I have a hundred lines."

Ruan replied, "As far as I know, every line puts virtue first. You only like a woman's beautiful face, not her virtue. How can you say that all the lines are occupied? "
