In my opinion, the best of several troubled times in the history of China should be the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Western Jin Dynasty for three reasons:

First, the preparation of literati, which can be said to be equivalent to the contention of a hundred schools of thought in the Spring and Autumn Period, and the birth of various ideologies and cultures;

Second, Juyun, all kinds of characters, adulterers, heroes, loyal ministers, traitors, hermits, all kinds of elites, can be said to be lonely;

Third, the situation is changeable. The court often changes, and the emperor takes turns to sit on the ground, but there is a paradise, giving people multiple choices, including masters, bad kings and generals. It can be said that it has everything.
